Ok I currently have a Hyper 212+. The Blademaster fan that it has on it drives me nuts because it clicks whenever the RPMs ramp up. So I have been looking to replace it. I have narrowed it down to the XLP and the AP-15. Currently the AP-15 can not be found. The XLP is available and they are both practically identical in price. So the question is should I wait for the AP-15 or go ahead and get the XLP? I know the AP-15 is not PWM, but am I correct in assuming that my CPU header will automatically adjust the speed using voltage instead without any problems?(If I decide to go with this fan)

Also am I correct in assuming that these fans will slip right into the brackets for the 212+?(I have the new plastic brackets)

I personally would got for the AP-15 its cheaper than the Noiseblocker XLP fan. I have never been to keen on them personally i think the exaggerate there stats alot.

I live in the UK so I know prices might be different in the US or where ever else. I think chillPC deliver world wide and i know they have AP-15

Also ehume has done some stuff on fan on radiator if you haven't looked at his work already. Here and here

I would but you guys keep nabbing them all up! lol

I have found another fan that has really caught my eye. The Akasa vipers look absolutely amazing to me. They have great static pressure and great CFM with a pleasantly quiet sound.(Going off of Martin's video) I am heavily considering getting one of these.

I am sure you can find some if you look around a bit. Alot of places are coming back in stock in April.

Trust me, I plugged one into my wifes PC replacing a 1200rpm fan and the air being moved was definitely noticed and the sound was pleasant to the ear!

Ok I got impatient and decided to give the Akasa Viper a try. I must say I don't regret it at all. This fan has great airflow and it is virtually silent until it gets into pretty high RPM and even then it is mostly air noise. At idle I can't even hear it over my case fans. So if you are tired of waiting for the GT to come into stock take a look at the Akasa Viper. I can't tell you how it compares, but I can tell you this fan won't disappoint.

I would personally save up for a better heatsink. Spending more money on the fans than the heatsink itself doesn't suit well with me. >.>

I have had the heatsink a while. Considering that I would haft to tear my whole computer down to replace it, I don't think it is going to be going anywhere any time soon lol. It keeps my processor cool, so I am not too worried about it at the moment. I just was bothered by the noise of the Blademaster fan. Also I only payed about $17 and some change for this fan.

I bought it from here in case anyone is interested. http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/akvi126928db.html

Akasa also makes a cooler with the Viper fan mounted on it. I am not sure how good it is, but if it matches the quality of the fan it should be pretty good. http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/venom.html
