Also IVY BRIDGE is said to have PCI 3.0, so IB looks like the best option for anyone right now
Lol. Gamers bought i7-970's and 980x's.

Budget gamer? i5-2500k's just fine. No AMD plz.

Once it's released, most people of course. You have to build the highways before cars can drive on it. Intel has stated Thunderbolt will be in Q4/2012 systems.

I don't see why they are bringing up the memory bandwidth so much again.. I mean there is hardly any benefit to triple channel memory, let alone quad.. Hopefully this means that the chipset and socket will have a long life like 775 did.

No PCI support.. Darn, I'll have to get a new sound card..
Why not? It gives the consumers a lot more flexibility when purchasing RAM. The important thing is that it not only supports quad-channel, but dual and triple as well, meaning that you can run any amount of identical sticks of ram on a motherboard with 4 DIMM slots. Most people on P67 these days would opt for an 8GB (2x 4GB) configuration not because they necessarily need or want 8GB but because they couldn't run a 6GB (3x 2GB) configuration without losing dual channel. Personally, I'd like to keep my current DIMM configuration when I migrate over to a new platform.

May I ask why you would want to downgrade your 580s?
