Hacking my network, annoying housemates

So my housemates are pissing my off again, i have decided i would like to learn how to hack anyway so why not hack thier laptops that appear as being appart of my network. I am using a long ethernet cable from the modem whilst they are all using the wi-fi.

any advice on where i should start?
