Weird GPU and CPU performance dips - Page 2

no this is def his CPU when i left my X4 @ stock speeds performance was ok but when i overclocked to 3.7 performance improved significantly BC2 loves cpu speed and maxes out all cores. basically the cpu is too slow however as for getting an X4 its probably not worth it withe bulldozer cores being due this year.

instead overclock that thing and perhaps look at unlocking the extra core on that x3 (some can be unlocked to an X4)

Yeah I tried running the CPU at 3.6Ghz and SLI configuration. It definitely gets rid of the stuttering. Right now the CPU temperature is at 88'C at 3.6Ghz. So I went back to default.

I know the 955 can OC upto 4GHz but I'm not sure how well this CPU can OC. Do I need to buy a cooler? What kind of voltage settings do I need?
