Bump

I ordered a new MB, I just hope it's the MB. It's either the cpu or the MB.

I think its the MB as well as i have a friend that blew a system, Cpu's are more durable i believe, either way its a 50/50 shot. GL

also your good on bumping as i believe its every 24hrs

Edit: hmmm, thought just occurred to me that it could just be a bad bios chip

just tried something.

(still not got new mobo)

after 10+ mins of running, the cpu doesn't make any heat, (I check by shutting down the system and removing the HT.)

Also some parts of the MB are heated up.

Makes me wonder if I ordered the wrong thing.

Probably bad bios checksum,

Settings wrong on the MOBO will cause a black boot,
Also changing things in big bumps can too,
You really need to make sure you have reset the bios on the Mobo as everything else started to heat up apart from the cpu which in turn could just be down to a bad setting in the bios and then it will have restricted the board from initializing the CPU (hence the cold CPU)

Now you have removed the board remove the battery and then find the bios reset jumper ( 3 pins, 2 of which are shorted by the jumper just move it over a pin ) or button and do a full system reset,

Then try the mobo with one stick of RAM and CPU installed,

It might be recoverable ???
You never know
