6870... ***

I currently have a MSI 6850 Cyclone running at 1000mhz/1175mhz at 1.2V. I was planning to crossfire, but I saw a great deal; a brand new 6870 from Newegg.

I bought it, took out my old card, put in the new card, it works.
Sad thing is... MSI Afterburner's limit is 1.3V (same as my 6850), core clock max 1ghz (my 6850 had 1.1ghz), and max memory was 1250 (I forgot what the 6850's was, but I think it was also around the same area).
Another sad thing is that the card cannot even stay stable at 1000mhz, even WITH 1.3v. And another sad thing is, is that this thing is a ******* jet plane! It's incredibly loud!
I thought that the 6870 was a great card to get with my 6850; purely of the overclocking benefits. I was wrong. Since when is the 6870 a downgrade to the 6850? Aren't the processors of higher quality die or something??? Why should it take MORE volts to get what the 6850 can achieve?

I'm so mad....

PS: It's a reference HIS 6870.
PSS: If I was to sell a reference HIS 6870 that has only been running for 30 minutes, how much would you buy it for? (box, accessories, newegg invoice included)

NOT IMPRESSED.

6870; 1.2v = 920mhz core 1100mhz memory max + insanely loud fan
6850; 1.2v = 1000mhz core 1175mhz memory max + acceptable fan

I uninstalled my 6xxx drivers and reinstalled the new 6xxx drivers. Could this be a problem? The 6870 overclocks like CRAP!!! I was aware of this, but I still thought that the 6870 OC could out-preform the 6850 OC!!!
