Used, you can get one new for £160 last time I checked. Look at eBay, on here, and similar, they really have dropped in price, along with 5850's which are now (used) as low as £100.

how come 5870 be faster than 6870 ? i just look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...ocessing_units
and bandwidth of 5870 is 153.6 and 6870 256...........
am still confuzed of which card to choose .

edit : i cant find an 6870 under 150pounds :S

They changed their naming scheme.

69xx is the 58xx
68xx is the 57xx

the 6870 was built as a "replacement" for the 5xxx series
for lower power consumption, and less heat. offering about the same
performance, but not as much, for a cheaper price.
its the "green" version..

The 5870 as a single card is slightly faster, but in Crossfire, the 6xxx series will double the FPS, where the older 5xxx series did not offer as much scaling.

am not going to buy 2 ATIs. just one! btw what am also thinking is that 2012 we gonna have dx12 so all these dx11 will be crap....am i right??

I'm not denying that, just saying that the 69x is now the top line and the 68x is budget enthusiast.

is it ?? so i will go for 5870 i will have it externally and change the thermal paste so it will be cool!!!
