[BD]Crysis 2 dev team going after PC cheaters; rumor claims Dx11 patch months away - Page 11

Don't know if this has already been mentioned or not

Crymod has a lot of ggod mods for Crysis 1 and they will run on the demo which for
Crysis still works, Crytek want's to blame lost sales on something maybe they should look at this.

I surely hope so! I love L4D.

Seriously, they're dragging their heels with the DX11 patch. They really should address all the other issues users have been encountering since launch and let AMD and Nvidia sort out the flickering CF/SLI issue.

Wanna bet they'll charge users for the DX11 patch?

The cheating is getting really bad... Played a few games today, all had at least 2+ cheaters. I saw some no clips flying around the map and in FFA some guy had infinite ammo for the shotgun and just held down the trigger the whole match. :/

Also, why does anybody give a damn about maxed? The truth is that the ceiling for maxing games these days is very low compared to what hardware is out. This is bad. If Crysis 2's current "extreme" setting were called medium, then that just means that there's a whole lot of room for better rigs to show off. Maxed in crysis 2 has no meaning, hell my old 4870 maxed the living crap out of the demo.
Why? Because I don't just game on my rig. I can watch movies, surf the web, check email, play games, do my work, listen to music, etc.... It's multitasking goodness and I like that I could change/add more components when need be. I am not a big fan of playing fps games with controllers and would rather stick with my pc that I built. I'm not sure what else to say to convince you but I could careless.

Just don't post your massive list when you get back.
Pretty true.

2 month away?? aahahah what a joke, people please, who have not bought this game, i commend you, i was stupid and belived in this company to the last minute, and bough the game, which was the biggest dissapoinment.
this company was about ground braking technologies PC. and now they want to cater to console boys, well feel free, not getting any of my money anymore

you people are crazy right, how can you even compare crysis graphics to the second one??
no mods?
thats what crysis was knows for, its like a completly differnt company released the game
rofl, relax, wouldn't want to blow a vein or something The company decided to shift directions, it's their company and its up to them what they want to do with the Crysis franchise. The two games went completely different routes in terms of graphics. Some scenes in Crysis 2 are so breathtaking and look amazing, all at 60fps with Vsync mind you. Crysis focused on the small details, Crysis 2 focused on the bigger picture because you won't be sitting there looking at each texture as you move through the game. I have actually been playing the game rather than just walk around and look at trees

you are 1 guy, you cannot possibly tell us why developers do what they do. They all have thier own reasons, and most of them happen to be from the people who own them.
lol, its up to the developer to decide what they want to do with their game. Maybe we should all start complaining that minecraft doesn't have uber graphics I mean Notch didn't use my computer to its full potential
/sarcasm

Crysis was unoptimized and 3x 8800GTX was the same as 2x 8800GTX for the most part(performance wise(isn't worth the extra $$$) without good drivers).

Please show me a single statistic that says that games without insane quality DX11 graphics and ultra high-res textures don't sell good because of their graphics. Until you've got some proof that crap like that actually matters in the grand scheme of a game's profit, then you've got nothing.

I'm not saying I really even like half of the mediocre games out there, but this isn't an argument about good or bad, it's an argument on why Crytek did what it did, and that argument is about money.

And 5% is not the PC market. In the case of Crysis 2 it is closer to 20-30% right now, 5% is the small group of people that care about graphics so much they won't even touch Crysis 2 (which turned out to be pretty fun IMO).

The worst thing to happen to Crysis 2 is Crysis 1. Crysis 1 was a graphical marvel and so everyone held Crysis 2 to standards that it need not be given. As was already said on this thread, the two games really shouldn't be compared, because the development path Crytek took for Crysis 2 was so much different.
I applaud your steadfastness, but, arguing with him won't get you results. He's already made up his mind about consoles and Crysis 2. He was applauding Homefront like mad and posted a thread telling everyone that it's going to be a great pc game, etc.... look how that turned out to be

Crytek essentially built their reputation by catering to those with bleeding edge hardware as something that could bring their system to its knees.......and they just shot themselves in the foot with the sequel. Sales may be easy now that they've made a console port, but the company's name just lost a huge chunk of their reputation, and that is something very hard to get back. While their sales are smooth now, what about the future.....is anyone going to care about their next game now? People aren't going to care about how hardware for the next 2+ years can run Crysis 2.......they're better off looking at other games.
Disagree, I care greatly about Crysis 3 and I'm sure other members on OCN do.

When it comes to the graphics. Even if i would settle with the low quality textures and such, There is still no physics to talk about that are even close to Crysis 1. I dont know about u guys but a game with great physics makes it way better. I want to see more destruction in the game.

Everyone say this game is better optimized then crysis 1 and runs better. Well add the physics from crysis 1 and some of the other great features and see what frame rates u will get.

Still haven bought the game, Cant make up my mind if its worth it. And if i even would want to support crytek with my money for this game.
and you know this how?

BC2 difference isn't noticeable much and Heaven is a benchmark. I haven't played Metro 2033 although I want to and most people disliked AVP so who cares if it had DX11?

Actually, that whole interview is actually pretty funny now. Anybody remember how there was so little PC media pre-release? It's because they knew that they couldn't back up their claims. What a bunch of sleazebags.
lol, assuming you pre-ordered it, you didn't have to! You could've waited for OCN reviews, screenshots, benchmarks, etc.... before making the decision but it was your choice in the end. Crytek doesn't owe you anything. What's there not to get? It doesn't matter if its the sequel or the first one, they make the game, you decide to buy it, simple as that. Either way, no point in discussing this further. It's obvious you don't plan on budging from your position and I won't be either

I think you need to read this: http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/97...ke-i-love.html
If you go into the game with an open mind and play it the way its meant to be played, you'll enjoy it. DX11 is just icing on the cake

How long have you played the game for? I really hope you didn't just open the game, play for like an hour or so and then decided that you hated it
