The main reason we all liked Crysis was because of the graphics which broke the status-quo and the open-world. Both of those aspects where lost with Crysis 2. But nevertheless, if you were to look at Crysys 2 for what it is; it's not a bad game. It's just nothing like Crysis; which is somewhat bizarre.
I won't lie, I too am disappointed Crysis 2 hasn't set a new standard in graphics. The game didn't owe that to us though, so it didn't affect my purchase. Crysis was PC-only, so I think they had 100% of their attention on making it great for the PC, but their sales just weren't good enough with the original. They only had 1/3rd the market they could've by eliminating the two consoles, and on top of that the game had some pretty lofty requirements for its time, so even a large percentage of PC gamers couldn't play it at decent settings. Even my two 8800's (which were the top of the line card when Crysis was released), couldn't even play the game at settings between medium and high at 1920x1080 @ 60fps.

This is true. But i don't think the direction they took was necessarily the right choice for the company. I've made it more than halfway though the SP and so far there is way to much COD like gameplay. I personally don't care for urban combat. It also fells like the game skipped to much between the first and second game. Crytek took the console game way. I mean come on they developed a game for hardware that was old when the first game came out.

Any way i feel like they could make it up to the PC community by getting the game up to snuff. But they feel like the MP is more important than actually finishing the game. I hate cheaters but this game is not high on my MP play list. With other games occupying my time.

And were is sandbox i know several people who bought the game for that and nope none to be found?

End result is PC getting the shaft and the next crytek game more than likely wont have a PC version.

Well that was my vent Now to wait for BF3 and go play Minecraft

Its apparently not crap to 360 owners who are still living in 2005. Its a good thing consoles hold us back who knows what kind of amazing pc games we would have without them. So if the 360 was developed out of 2005 hardware and crysis was released in 07 than the game had to be drummed down 2 years. Good thing my friend upgraded to a 580 just for crysis 2 i don't think is 8800 gtx's in sli would have been able to handle such a complex game. (Sarcasm)

I own a gaming company and I make a revolutionary game for PC that capitalized the industry.
On down the road, I plan to make a sequel. I PROMISE it being a PC game, but it will also be on console.
During development, I find it easier to develop an engine that "auto-ports" code.
It is no longer financially relevant to me to build this game as a successor to the first in its revolutionary standpoint.
I break my promises to the PC community, take the "Call of Duty" way of making a game and render the name of my once revolutionary title useless.

That's what Crytek did. Crysis was built as a graphical king for the PC world, the only world that the developers could accomplish this on.
Crysis 2 isn't a Crysis game.
It just shows how many developing teams have taken the Activision way of making a cheap and easy MP game for a quick buck. And it disgusts me.
This exactly. While it's OK to be perfectly happy with a sequel that plays better than the original, I think you guys are missing the point. Crysis set the standard in graphics and game benchmarking, and this sequel was supposed to up the ante on our hardware. Crytek essentially built their reputation by catering to those with bleeding edge hardware as something that could bring their system to its knees.......and they just shot themselves in the foot with the sequel. Sales may be easy now that they've made a console port, but the company's name just lost a huge chunk of their reputation, and that is something very hard to get back. While their sales are smooth now, what about the future.....is anyone going to care about their next game now? People aren't going to care about how hardware for the next 2+ years can run Crysis 2.......they're better off looking at other games.

I think Crysis 2 looks really good. In my eyes it has a good amount of quality. It looks way better on pc than on the console. I think to many people have an unrealistic goal of having certain companies only release games for high end pc's. Seriously, Do you think it is cost effective to sell games to only a small percentage of gamers? Lets say, it cost $30 million to develop a game that is 100% done and ready for market. Lets not even factor in marketing or distribution. Lets say they sell the game at retail for $49.99, Say the distributer sells to reailers at $35(probably less). How much of that goes to the developer huh? The publisher has to recoup the cost of marketing, distribution and overhead. Lets take simplistic view of this and say the developer gets 60% of that. so that means per unit the developer gets $21. To make back the money they spent on development not counting any taxes they have to pay or bonuses or anything they would have to sell 1,428,572 units. Lets say the game caters only to gamers with high performance computers and the game is a first person shooter and it only runs on Windows 7 64bit. Remember im sure the developers want to make money at this to. These numbers are not 100% accurate because well, i have never done a deal with a publisher, and i am sure all the info is in an NDC. But they are not unrealistic. And selling 1.5 million units is not exactly easy when you have such a small customer base. Now calculate how many people can play when you ease up the requirements, put it on a console, now the numbers are much higher. True adding in top quality textures and adding in high end features to a pc release would be possible, but why make your life harder? If you have nothing to prove other than the ability to make a fun game then there is no reason to spend time on that.

Flame Suite On!

Tired of rumors. U cant trust them at all. If i where to believe on rumors the DX11 would already be out.

When it comes to the graphics. Even if i would settle with the low quality textures and such, There is still no physics to talk about that are even close to Crysis 1. I dont know about u guys but a game with great physics makes it way better. I want to see more destruction in the game.

Everyone say this game is better optimized then crysis 1 and runs better. Well add the physics from crysis 1 and some of the other great features and see what frame rates u will get.

Still haven bought the game, Cant make up my mind if its worth it. And if i even would want to support crytek with my money for this game.

I guess the "can it play Crysis 2" joke won't pick up. It will still be "Can it play Crysis". In any case, I've seen enough feedback to deter my purchase. I won't get it until it will be 5 euros.
