Even if an area went to 'super speeds',wouldn't the overall experience still be what it currenty is since what your connecting to still runs on the 'average' connection.

I'd be glad to know this, but the thing is I'll have to take whatever I'm given for the next 4 years... Renting a place in college.

Isn't Kansas City where Google have chosen to have their fiber optic internet done?

I love my Cablevision 30/5, but if it weren't for their stranglehold on our mayor, I'd have FiOS 50/20 right now. :/

(As much as I'd love Optimum Ultra 100/20, $105/mo is a bit much)

should not complain so much ... in Venezuela 1.5Mb plan cost 200Bs= 46$

for 1.5!!!

an the fastest speed is 2Mb for CANTV an 4Mb for intercable (that costs the same as the maximum plan of CANTV, but block p2p)

ping of 150ms...

...you do not know what you have until you lose it

Regards!!

This is purely for their backbone and the businesses that have the $$$$$$ to connect to it.
Verizon isn't doing squat for normal consumers here. (upgrading a backbone doesn't help congested edges and last mile lines)

That's it?
Paying $70 USD/month for a 1.2mbps / 0.10mbps / 250 ping connection. Connection dies every 12 hours (give or take 10 seconds) and the up/down/ping speeds get worse usually. It also does go out for hours every month.

Oh, and I'm in the U.S. about 5 miles (road) from a school, and 20 (road) from 1 major city and 2 big towns.
$70/month for 1/1 dsl would be a godsend here.
