Worker 3 on Prime95 hating my i5-2500k!?

I put together my rig last night. Runs cool, idles at 30C. So I figure I would give it a shot to OC my CPU.

I was able to run it at 4.6GHz @ 1.3v for an hour, but then its always worker 3 that bails on me!

Does everyone have this problem? Or just I need to keep upping my volts?

I never go over 60C under full load though. It once hit 64C, but it was for like 3 secs or so.

Keep upping the volts buddy. Mine did the same thing. It's always one worker that goes. More vcore cures it.

Good luck with the OC. Takes a bit of tinkering with, but it's fun when you get it right heh. You're temps are looking good also, looks like you got a nice chip

That means your third core is unstable, you need to up the voltage or back the clocks.

I know what it means, but its really annoying for that ONE worker to keep stopping on me

I am now trying 4.6 @ 1.320v

What are you guys doing with LLC. I have it on High, and my phase control on extreme. Its my first time OC'ing. I read around a lot. I have used 2 guides that have successfully got me to 4 but now I want to get up to 4.6 at least. I just dont want to go over 1.35v if I can help it becuase from what I have read, 1.3v is the sweet spot to run a 24/7 OC.

There isn't really a sweet spot for voltage, just make sure you don't go over like 1.45 and the temps stay below 75 for 24/7 i would say. I'm not sure with you're particular mobo, but I know there are a bunch of guides for the ASUS one on the Intel motherboards thread for oc'ing it.
