Speakers for $50

post #1 of 4
Thread Starter
Hey guys, I'm upgrading my dad's computer for his birthday and I would also like to get him some new speakers. He spends probably 40% of his time on the computer listening to music on Youtube. He has a 2.0 set of Cyber Acoustic speakers that he bought at Officemax or something that sound ok, but can we do better for $50-$60 bucks?

He doesn't care at all about bass, he actually turns it down a bit when he listens on mine, so 2.0 is fine. Don't try to push the budget, he's not an audiophile.

These might fit the bill, but pushing the upper limit of your price range:

anything you can find that is logitech or creative (lower-end) that fits the budget. Usually speakers from these brands are A-OK

You can get your dad some bookshelf speakers since he doesn't need to much bass.

These are perfect;

Not pushing the limit, nothing too fancy, save yourself $10. If the music he listens to is YouTube streaming quality, these will exceed his expectations.

Logitech have an outstandingly large collection of speakers for low to high ranges (higher ranges often not recommended as you can get something better for your money), but the lower range speakers are good value for money. Anything Logitech you can't go wrong with. If you're buying in person you could always ask for a demo in store.
