SSD or 6970? - Page 5

I hope people realize that the difference between a o/c 6950 and a unlock is 1%-3% right. Plus there is always a chance u can mess up ur card plus nothing is 100% guarantee to do anything. Plz remember 2 things man made error and human error

No. the 6950 and 6970 have alot more than 1%-3% difference. It's over 10%

5870 and 6950 perform the same in relative perfomance charts, swap the 5870 for a 6950.

6970 is ~9% faster than the 6950 at 1920x1080. 6950 can easily clock to 6970 speeds and beyond. Clock for clock the extra shaders only offer 1-3% increase. Please refer to my previous post or to the link my my sig.

At 1920x1080 the 6950 is ~7% faster than a 5870. I don't have the data on hand regarding any other resolution at this time.

Never in my post did I compare a 6950 to a 6970. I was comparring a 6950 oc vs a 6950 unlock. Big difference 1-3% now a 6950 vs 6970 10%.

Which model did you go with? Was it a reference design? On my reference 6950 < 48% fan speed is hardly noticeable.

Same with me, 50% is about the most I ever use but to be fair 100% sounds like a boeing 747.

When on automatic I never notice it.
