Antec EA500D will for the same price and despite less wattage kick that Diablotek crap PSU unit's butt
M59 is cheaper from TigerDirect
Value RAM = boooooooo... this better DDR3-1600 also probably costs around the same
Last thing: 120MM always > 92MM. Get the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Hyper-Sleeve-RR-B10-212P-G1/dp/B002G1YPH0/"]212+ on Amazon[/ame] for around same price [after shipping]

If you want a little video randering then you should go with Nvidia minimum a gts 450 512 mb or 1gb memory .This configuration is among 500 $ on newegg.
My recomandation is :
- Phenom 2 955 BE
-MSI 870-G45 AM3
-GIGABYTE GV-N450-1GI GeForce GTS 450
-4gb ram
-case what do you like
- CORSAIR Builder Series CX600
-SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB

I would recommend staying away from using any and all 125W processors on that unsafe, crippled VRM, low-end MSI 870 mobo. If you can get a better PSU than the CX600 (i.e. Antec EA500D) for same price, go for that.

Corsair's Builder Series (that includes the CX600) is total crap. DO NOT buy it.

If most of what he's gonna be doing is video editing and mild gaming, he should save money and get a lower end Phenom II X4. Gaming performance can be boosted by getting a better GPU than a Radeon HD 5670, and by getting the lower-priced Phenom you can put more towards that. The NZXT M59, at its current price in Newegg, is WAY too expensive for the features it has.

I suggest this:

Asus DVD+RW Drive: $20

HEC Blitz Black Case: $40

Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB: $40

AsRock M3A770DE Motherboard: $60

XFX GeForce GTS 250: $95

Antec EA-430D 430W PSU: $50

Team Xtreem Dark 4GB DDR3 1600MHz: $45

AMD Phenom II X4 820: $95

Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Cooler: $22

Subtotal: $467
Total: $481

This is a much better build than the original. The CPU is the Phenom II X4 820 which, unlike the 840 and the Athlon II X4, is based on the Deneb die and has L3 cache. The 820 has 4MB of L3 cache, but it's guaranteed to unlock to the full 6MB. With that, gaming and editing performance will be exactly the same if the CPU is clocked at 3.2GHz and you can go higher than that with the Hyper TX3. That should allow you to reach around 3.6GHz safely. The motherboard is one of the few good quality budget boards and is much better than the MSI that was posted and Gigabyte you posted. The Power Supply, while it may be rated at a lower wattage than the Diablotek, can output much more power reliably and is much higher-quality. The PSU shouldn't have to output more than 300W even if the system is over-clocked, so you have a good headroom. The RAM, while it may be just as good as the Kingston when it comes to reliability, will run at higher frequency and give a bit more performance. Best of all, the GeForce GTS 250 is a whooping 40% faster than the Radeon HD 5670 so he will get much better performance there when he games.

hmm interesting choices will defintely change the psu to the antec earth watts; however
@LOL_Wut_Axel not sure about the mobo, the power phases on it dont look to good for ocing but the mobo i originally suggested are much better?
and actually is this ram [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003OBZSKE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&m=A19DLTWO0AVQL4"]Amazon.com: Kingston HyperX Blu 4 GB Kit (2x2 GB Modules) 1600MHz XMP DDR3 DIMM Desktop Memory KHX1600C9D3B1K2/4GXETR: Electronics[/ame] better or worse that the team xtream ram suggested earlier?

Add $17 to this build for this: ASUS M4A79XTD EVO

As far as ram goes, both the Kingston Hyper blu and the Team are good. Just a matter of if you want to deal with an mir. At $30 after mir, the kingston is hard to beat.

I second the GTS250. I game at 1680x1050 and am able to run good fps at medium to high settings. Can't go wrong. Also, with the M4A79XTD, you can add another gpu later down the road and run the GTS for physX wink.gif
It's so little!
