Computer upgrades.

Not sure where to post this so I thought I would try this. I was thinking of getting a Noctua nh-d14 to overclock my cpu to 4.0ghz, and 2 hardrives to run in a raid. I am currently running a raid setup with 2 hamatchi 500gb. I essentially just want my computer to run like it should. I don't want to have these high end parts if I don't use them. I now realize this was the wrong place to post this but is it possible to run 2 raid setups? Sorry for the post.

Two raid arrays on the same motherboard using the integrated controller? Yes, it can be done. A dedicated controller is recommended though.

It would be possible although I would recommended you getting a dedicated controller though, just to make your life easier. Also, do you need the extra space? If not why not buy an SSD instead of the two HDD. The Noctua is a great buy btw! I got to play around with one for a build I made for my friend, quiet and keeps your CPU very cool. The Thermalright Silver Arrow is also another great cooler I would recommend giving a look at.

Edit: Ninaj'd on the controller lol, GL on the upgrade!

Ok. I just wanted to know what you think I should buy in order to get the most out of my pc. I thought of the noctua, and a large fast harddrive. I am a video editor and I do some 3d work. I play lots of games and I tend to record my games with fraps while I play for different purposes. So i am pretty sure I have the pc I just need to make a few tweaks. And like I said before the fast hdd and cpu cooler would help and I am thinking of a sound card since the sound card that came with my mobo isn't very good. What do you guys think?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829132006 I was using this sound card for a while and it did me pretty good for the price. Try and stay away from Creative Labs sound cards, not as good as they used to be. Since you need the space maybe get 2x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136795 and set them up in a raid. Also if you're going for two raid set ups I would recommend you record your gameplay over to your second raid set up, this killed off a lot of the lag and stopped my drop in fps while recording by a lot.

Will that sound card fit on my mobo considering I have 2 gtx 580s which take up 2 slots? And if I were to go and get 2 hdds to run in a raid how do I set up the raid? I only ask because im not sure how to run dual raid setups.
