SLI 2 580s now. Wait for next generation X series, and tri/quad - fire them up

Does the Sabertooth have a NF200 chip? You need it to do quad-sli with the GTX 590. It is a limitation put in place by NVIDIA.
Edit: See the review here at guru3d. I checked and the Sabertooth doesn't have the NF200 chip so it cannot use two GTX 590s in sli.

I have the board, it doesn't have a NF200 chip. Also two cards will run at 8x/8x anyways.

I have this board and I wouldn't use two GTX 590s on it. Those cards need a lot of bandwidth 16x/16x especially at high resolutions. No P67 is sufficient, the M4E only does 8x/8x or 8x/16x/16x, which doesn't make sense. Either go with the X58 platform or wait for the X79 platform this fall, which will also have PCI 3.0. By that time Nvidia would be close to releasing faster more reliable video cards than that GTX 590.

8x is fine for single gpus, but dual gpus need 16x.

huh i didn't know you need NF200 to SLI GTX 590s, i know they had their own NF200 onboard chip, but i didn't know that, i guess it makes sense to give both GPUs total bandwidth, but somehow it doesn't make sense, other than NVIDIA needs money/

So yes you need to get a P67A-UD7-B3 or Maximus 4 Extreme, asus also has p67 WS with NF200, but i wouldn't get that.
