It works pretty well with their blue fans too. I have the XLF-F1704, 170mm, blue S-blade fan with white lights.

OP: That's quite a nice paint job, top notch work. I love a good, classy 690 mod.

Thanks T-Ramp. While I haven't powered them up yet, I'm expecting white LEDs shining on the orange fans.

Thanks B3RGY! Do you know if the 5850's can be OC'd or flashed to 5870? I have considered going crossfire or SLI. I have also considered starting with a single 6950, flashed to 6970, then adding another 6950 card down the road. I dunno for sure yet. I do like the price of the 5850 though!

For the est bang for your buck i would grab two 5870's or two 470's which ever is cheaper right now. for right around $500 you can have a setup that will rape any game out there for some time. You might want to grab two of these
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-316-_-Product If you do get these make sure you get the model with UD in the model number not OC, because the OC version wont let you adjust the voltage.

There probably aren't any waterblocks for that card - reference is the only way to go. If I were you, Run N. Gun, I'd look around for good deals on used 5870s with waterblocks or just go with 6950s.

I really like that idea and from what I've read reference cards are the way to go. Pricing is about the same and could be cheaper in the long run, with going with 2 cards now vs adding another card later. Great ideas! Thank you!
