Battleforge is not a game that came out with DX11 and it has no real DX11 features, either, so it's irrelevant. All games that have come out with DirectX 11 natively and have the option for DX10/9 always perform worse in DX11. Do the same for games that came out with native DX10 and the option for DX9 and you'd find at many times DX10 performed better.

To the OP: if you're willing to pay for a new card, but on eBay, you CAN get a Radeon HD 4770. That's the same performance as the 9800GT and is at a lower price, so get that instead. You better do it fast, though, because it's probably a stock clearance sale (the 4770s aren't manufactured anymore).

Honestly, you are ill informed.
1) since the difference is a percentage, the fps will drop accordingly, So it wont be 25fps vs 20fps for the minimum, itll be more like 22 vs 25fps.
2)4770 is not the same performance, it is faster. (look at your own sources next time, draws less power, runs cooler and overclocks better. why do people always recommend the 9800gt's all the time?

3)Completely wrong. There are no native dx11 games, most games are still codded for 9/10 and merely have dx11 support. BF3 is a step in the right direction, nerfing dx9.

If it had the same features, why did it run better on dx11? DX11 is more optimised end of, just so you know battleforge does have dx11 options like SSAO and uses shadermodel 5.

Sure on some games dx11 runs worse than dx10 but that is because they usually add features automatically into the dx11.like bc2 uses softer shadows in dx11. But if it were the exact same graphics, dx11 would perform better.
Do want to know why?
Compute shader. Which is in dx11 allows devs to bipass the API and use more of the raw power of the gpu for shading (which battle forge is full of), another feature is better muti cpu support(allowing multiple cores to render the same object.
