Best air cooler - Page 2

The Prolimatech Genesis is also in the mix...

After testing a lot, i got the best results with the silver arrow. but really the archon, Silver Arrow, D14, Genesis, even the Armageddon, Megahalems,Venomous X are all great coolers, depending on the fans they are all pretty close.

i've got 2 of the 1900rpm sythe slipstreams they move ALOT of air, but they are too noisey, and only dropped my temps by around 3-4c most using arctic mx-4 TIM, I changed the TIM around 10 times trying different ways, and the way i found best was an "x" in the middle of the cpu which is what i'm using now, it got the most coverage and had the most effect on the temps

other fans in the case are whatever came with the HAF X case, think its 200mm top (exhaust) 200mm front (in) and 240mm side (in) then the 2 sythe slipstreams

Those temps dont seem that bad for what your chip is and where its running at all, but i dont know a whole lot about intel chips lol.

You're good with those speeds and temps. However, get some GT fans if you want to decrease noise.

The D14 and SA can can both avoid tall memory by raising the fan or moving it to a different position.

Both D14 and SA are better than a H70 and way quieter.
Rasa 750 would beat up on all three.

Kind of looks like you're trying to hit 5.0 with about 1.45v. There's a nice wall you'll hit with the H70 at 5.0.

current temps @ 4.8ghz 1.364Vcore are:
idle 38c
load 75c

my ambiants aren't too high, its pretty chilly in my room, even more so when I open the window

so looking for a good air cooler that not only performs well but it must be quiet!
price I don't mind just as long as its not going to cost as much as an XSPC RASA kit, so budget up to around £60, I could stretch slightly

I am going for 5ghz but I don't want to take the temps over 75c, which they are at now under full load, I've seen the same processor at the same speed (if not higher) with lower temps than mine, without water cooling
