New to water cooling (help)

Hi I know there has been lot of post about this and I have read it but I just cant seem to understand what I should buy. So far I know that I should not buy cheap water cooling. The reason I want to get water cooling is that my cpu temperature gets way to hot idle is around 50 celcius and when it loads its goes around 90 celcius (which is not good also have my computer on basically all day everyday). I have cleaned my computer and etc. I am currently running auto cad, rhinos, and solid work program at the same time (for my architecture major). My specs are:
azza hurricane 2000
i7-950 stock setting
p6x58d premium mother board
6 gb kingston
2 ati 5870 (cf)
v6 gt cpu cooler
950 corsair psu
80 gb ssd intel
1 tb western hdd
1 tb western hdd

if anyone can help me which watercooling to get I will be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Now... just saying here but if your 950 is at 50c idle and 90c under load at STOCK settings you have something dearly wrong(unless you live in the heart of Africa or Malaysia). My 920 with a DarkKnight on it are around 37c idle at 4GHz with load temps getting up to around 65c. I would initially try to re-seat your heatsink.

Wow thats hot. Even with the cooler you have your temps shouldn't be that hot. What TIM did you use? Your performing like you have the stock paper weight from intel installed. Also like Blade said try reseating the cooler. There is definitely something wrong going on and if your running stock clock then wc would be overkill.

I am sorry but where is heatsink located at? and also my cpu was getting hot every since I put cf xfx 5870 (non ref) and those cards gets hot around 80-90 celcius. I was looking into aftermarket cooling for does but could not find any for non reference board. I am currently guessing since my gpu is hot and the heat goes to my cpu? or maybe im running my computer over night with those programs on. I am basically working on my stuff non stop, barely sleeping dis days. I am scared that this pc will crash cause its getting to hot and dont want that to happen and cant waste time looking into another pc or something. Sorry I am really new at computer stuff. Haven't really paid attention to it, but I am paying attention to it now. So i was thinking about water cooling so it will help my computer.

Sounds like your stuff is too well... stuffy in the case and your building up (not evacuating) the heat properly... like the other posters stated, need to look into a re-seat the stock HS on the processor first. Baring that I would suggest finding someone in your local area that frequents the OC, not to be a dick, but it wouldn't hurt to have someone around with some experience before getting into WC.

I will locate the heat sink and re apply the heat sink. But, if i do get a wc I was thinking of a kit. I have read some H50/70 and people were having positive comments about them. Or should i get more better wc kit. But first i'll reapply the heat sink after i search about hs.

Sounds like a plan, I offer the same advice when tuning anything. Get a baseline for your stock setup, and than look into doing something else. If its really hot now, something else could be wrong/off.

As far as kits go the H50/70 I hear are decent, but those are pretty comparable to an air based HS solution... as far as a kit goes, the Rasa kit is well received, and beyond that, a custom kit is the way to go... just depends how deep $$$ you want to get.

Hi I have a question about XSPC Rasa 750 RS360. I heard that the pumping is bad for these. So should I just get a new pump for this kit?? Thank you.
The pump in the rasa kit is fine if you don't have that many blocks which you probably won't if you only plan on cooling the cpu with it. It can handle a graphics card waterblock or two as well probably. Just don't add a mosfet waterblock or something like that. Would you mind telling us what parts you would like to cool with water and what parts you plan on keeping on air. As far as between the H50 and the Rasa, there isn't really a comparison in performance. If you don't mind putting in a bit more time and effort, definitely go with the Rasa, if you just want a convenient upgrade, go with the H50 but the Rasa beats the H50 by far. If you're going to get an H50, you might as well get a high end air cooler like the Noctua NH-D14

Edit: If you can fit it, I'd try to put in a RX360 instead of the RS since you'll get better temps that way.

thanks a lot, and im planning to put on cpu and gpu. I am not sure about other stuff cause it feels like those r the main thing that are heating up and I did replace the heatsink and it did cool a lot better than before. It dropped 5 clecius on cpu. Nothing on gpu. So I have decided to water cool now because I am running this computer 24/7 and would not like my cpu to be that hot running 24/7. I will check rx360 thank you very much
