GPU upgrade but Unsure about CPU

Thread Starter
Sup guys, as the title suggests I'm after a GPU Upgrade, not fussed about ATi or Nvidia, But I'll be buying it from the below link as I'm mates with someone who works there and might be able to grab a discount.

Now firstly I'm not sure which card to grab, I have around $400 to spend and don't really want to go over, I've got air con on in my room whenever I'm in there so heat isn't too much of an issue so it really comes down to just performance per $, OC is a nice bonus but not needed.

Secondly, How much of a bottleneck would my i5-750 be? I've had it sitting at 3.2GHz for a few months now and don't plan on changing it, But I've been told that it would still be a bottleneck for any card above $250 which I didn't think would be the case but I'm not too knowledgeable on the topic so figured I should ask.

Any advice would be great thanks guys, Cheers.

your core i5 750 is fine.

overclock it to 4ghz and be done.

Also, PC Case Gear is the best Aussie shop. ships to all parts of AUS.

As said, over-clock your CPU to 3.8 or 4GHz and you're done. Your CPU won't bottleneck even a GTX 580. With that said, since from what I can see you're playing at 1920x1080, the best improvement I can recommend is a Radeon HD 6950 2GB. It'll cost you $300 AUS and is twice as fast as your current 5770. If you CrossFire, you should be set for at least four years.

The 750 is still a very powerful CPU, I'm pretty sure it won't bottleneck a 580 if overclocked decently.

EDIT: Oh damn, they already beat me to it
