Mate if you gona game and if is a must that you must have a RAT then for the love of god at least get the 7 which is wired.
Also i have a 7G and i recomend without any doubts, great gaming switch, rock solid and best rest ever, if you not bothered about backlit of couse.

i am open to other options then the RAT 9, if there is a version of it thats wired but still has the ability to change the size and such then i would really consider it, the only reason i am thinking about the RAT 9 is becuase you can change the size, the grips and such, being wireless isnt the buying point for me its the customizabilty that i am after

Before i was thinking about getting the RAT 3, that and the RAT 9 are the only 2 i have so far looked at - for some reason i cant seem to access any of the others on the makers site - dam library!

So if you have other options for mice then let me know

I haven't tried the rat 9, but nowadays a good wireless mouse is really not too bad for gaming, instead the "wrong" switch in the keyboard can have a huge impact (it depends on what kind of game, obviously).

I think the rat 7 is basically the rat 9 but wired. That means it's cheaper and a better performer.

But some people really like wireless.

RAT 7 is RAT 9 but wired and cheaper!

ah cool, i didnt know that. i will check it out and see what i think. As i said the RAT 9 being wireless wasnt the reason i wanted it but if the RAT 7 has the same features and is cheaper then i will get that one instead

I saw a couple of youtube vids saying that the RAT9 has horrible tracking, a friend of mine who plays CS 1.6 and SF a lot says the tracking is good.

Definitely get the R.A.T. 7 over the R.A.T. 9. Personally, I found the R.A.T. 7 a bit too heavy feeling even with all the weights removed but I still rotate mine in from time to time to see if I can learn to love it.

In terms of keyboard durability, the Razer is BlackWidow is likely Razer's most solidly built product to date and would probably be just fine for your gaming needs. It certainly can be had for much cheaper than most other mechanical boards out there so would be a good entry level item to consider.
