And also as stated earlier in this thread the same thing occurs at 1920x1080 so it is not a vram issue

Also....it's not a resolution problem. It's specifically related to crossfire:

You're running out of video memory.

Lol he's not. I realized that as soon as he said he went down to 1920x1080. I would delete the current driver get the one before it and so on until you find one that's satisfactory.

edit: Also try the cards out at stock settings, no fan profile, no oc's no nothing.

2 6970's at 1920x1080 is fine for me. I don't see any microstuttering at all. This could be driver-related I believe.

Your running out of VRAM. Upgrade to two 6950s.

loljk I would just test each card individually, maybe one of them is a dud?
Other than that... driver problems? Did you always have this problem?

The cards work perfectly in a single card configuration. It's only when they are in crossfire the problems begin.

I've tried 11.2 and 11.3 with the latest CAP but nothing else.

I run 10.4 drivers with 11.2 caps and I dont experience micro stuttering. For one thing, trying to solve the fps dips down to 5fps is not the problem.. you need your overall framerate up. How can you play at 20fps? O.o

I run a 5970 and 5870 tri-fire, though Im not playing at your resolution.. Ive played crysis at a 3360x1050 and I know I couldnt play the game as smooth as I would have liked on max settings (AA full, etc). I can tell you now, any FPS or stuttering you experience IS because of your video card memory. Thats over 6million pixels changing constantly, the amount of memory for that is more than 1gb. My 1gb video memory is what is holding me back from even getting a 3rd monitor. I would rather have great framerates and stunning graphics versus "console" graphics with barely enough fps for smooth game play.

Try all kinds of different drivers starting back at 10.2. Thats what I did till you find what works best with your system.
