IBT questions

Thread Starter
So I just built the system in my sig and decided to give overclocking a try. I used a SB overclocking guide and was able to get it stable using Prime 95 for 6 hours or so.

I decided to give IBT a try just to make sure it was stable and the temps recorded using CoreTemp 99.8 and RealTemp 3.60 were at least 10-12 degrees higher than the temps recorded under the Prime95 test.

Is this normal? I ended up stopping the test when it hit 75C. I set everything back to stock and 5 tests of IBT produced a max temp of 61C. Doesnt seem to leave a lot of room for OC'ing my cpu.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the response! I need to look into temp thresholds a little closer it appears. I have posted a similar thread in the IntelCPU forum to try and get some more CPU specific things worked out relating to this issue.

Thanks again!
