Some hhd questions

Most of the games I own are through steam which is nice but every time I reformat then I have to redownload all the games. I was thinking of getting a hhd just for all my games so that when I reformat I don't have to waste my bandwidth. Would this be a good idea? What problems could I encounter? Also how would this work, after the reformat would I just click on the hhd and open steam up regularly or would I have to setup some things?

You can use Steam Mover (http://www.traynier.com/software/steammover) to transfer your games to another HDD or just use the backup/restore feature in Steam to save re-downloading.

Didn't know you could do that, thanks.

Now I got a question a little off topic here, I have a 4 year old WD velociraptor, 10 000rpm, would this still be faster then say a F3?

i editted (is that even a word lol) the title to include this question
