I'm liking the price, but tablets are still a big no for me. too big to be truly "portable"(I.E. fit in my pocket) and too small(+no built in keyboard) to be a "real" computer. I say cut the size in half, and the price to below $300. then we'll talk.

£429 for the 16GB version in the UK. Including the dock. £379 without it.

What a joke!

Why don't people understand tablet specific apps do not really matter. Almost ever single android application can be scaled up and work just fine. I have a Nook Color running CM7 and haven't found one yet that didn't scale the 1024x600 7" screen.

Your Nook Color can go Honeycomb provided the right ROM.

Everything working in CM7 > SDK port that doesn't even have full market access.

What a joke!
I know, its annoying.
Stupid VAT.

However on its own its £20 cheaper than the base ipad, and even with the dock its cheaper than an ipad with apples ipad keyboard. Honestly, how can you charge £56 for a keyboard so small and uncomfortable.

The transformer has turned up on our catalogue at work and Id really like to get it in to have a play with the new android OS.

Having an application that was designed for an ~800x480 3.5" screen, and scaling it up to fit a 1280x800 ~10" screen, isn't anywhere near as good / functional as having an application designed for it specifically.

When working specifically with slates this size you can add a lot more features due to having much more space to work with.

It's almost like taking an iPhone app and stretching it to fit the iPad's screen, the difference here will be that the Android app scales instead, either way you still just getting a phone app shown on a big screen.
