And to people talking about fascism and how it's affecting america:

I will agree that while there may be better examples of fascism in the world today, but it is undeniable that certain people in the 'States will push for fascism (I don't mean to stereotype but; over religious people for the most part). Our government is here to serve US, if the populous wants fascism, it's going to get it.

Thinking like 'Oh, it's just one game, and one store, who cares if it gets banned or not?' is how things like Australia happen.

The vocal minority will usually win over the silent majority. If you don't want Wal Mart to be swayed one way start a group voicing the opposite.

Now your chance of this happening is slim because most people can't be bothered. That is how so many idiotic laws get passed, more people are interested in American Idol vote, than what their City Council, State Congress, or US Government is doing. Most don't realize till it is already a law.

America being the great 'beacon' of freedom you say it is, there's a million and one ways one could voice their complaint without treading on other people's rights. Write an article in a newspaper for example!
Their petition amounts to an article in the newspaper. It is an opinion and nothing more. It has not produced any results.

The clear problem here is people, like you, who are acting like the petition is a law. Even if it worked (and is has not) and Wal-Mart banned it, and Target, Gamestop, and everyone else followed the improbable slippery slope, you would still be free to visit Ebay or buy a copy directly from Gearbox.

America is "the great beacon of freedom" because everyone, even idiot petitioners, has the right to voice their opinion. In case you have forgotten the 1st ammendment:

Quote:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
We are not Europe or Australia. The courts have already decided that the government can never ban offensive media for the so called greater good of society. You will always be free to buy Duke Nukem, or Husler, or whatever.

Eh - the item at issue is slightly misogynistic... no two ways to slice around that one. The sad issue is that this is a reason for uproar mainly because of poor parenting values in American society.

Duke, in and of himself, is a giant satire of every stereotypical action hero or buff main character in a video game.

That's what makes him so awesome and it was the very purpose of his inception.

100% genius.

Buying my copy at walmart. I hope they protest the store as I walk out with it!

Oh wow. So spanking a chick on the ass is just so horrible, yet shooting someone in the face with a shotgun loaded with exploding shells is a-okay.

Exploding heads=Okay
Spanking ass=Horrible crime against nature

Faith in humanity dwindling.
