Hello everyone!

This is my first case mod (do not expect it to be perfect). My aim is to enhance the aesthetics of my case and the air flow. This mod is going to be fairly simple, but that is mainly due to the lack of access to tools. Nevertheless the outcome will be a unique mod of Cm 690 II Advanced case.
I've purchased this pc pre-built, as I have not had any experience in building pcs, in fact this is my first own pc. I had to share the previous ones with my younger brother (wanted to:sniper: him few times). Remember when it comes to anything to do with pc's I'm a complete beginner.

The Spec
Case: Cooler Master Cm 690 II advanced
Cpu: Intel® Core ™ i7-950 3.06GHz
Motherboard: ASUS ® P6X58D-E
Memory: 6GB Kingston Hyper-X Tri-DDR3 1600MHz
Gpu: Palit GTX470
Hard drive: WD Caviar Black 640 GB
Psu: Corsair Tx850
Cpu cooler: Titan Fenrir Extreme
Sound card: Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Titanium - Fatal1ty Professional Series

The Theme
The overall design is going to be fairly simple, but there will be a bit of curves in some places ( I love curves biggrinsmiley.gif) and things that will make this mod unique. Where will the curves be? What are these ''things'' going to look like? Well thats going to be the suprise.
Colour Scheme: black, blue and yellow.

The plan
1.Replacing Fans and adding fans
2.Sleeving Cables
3.Cable management
4.Painting of some of the interior parts
5.Designs of the side window
6.Plans for using sheets of acrylic as covers, e.g. psu cover
7.Making of the side window and the covers

Parts to buy when I get the cash.
1.120 GB SSD
2.Fan Controller - Lamptron FC-8

Things to note:
1.I'm using a mobile phone to take pictures as for now I do not have a camera. I will try my best to take best pictures possible, but I'm also not a good photographer, and taking good pictures is practically new to me.
2.This is my first mod ever. So do expect too much of me. Also recently I'm a bit short on budget for this so money will probably be the thing slowing down the progress.
3.I'm a student and I can't let this get in the way of my studies, therefore please understand pauses and the project being on hold during the times of exams, and course work overload
4.Also there is one major issue that is stopping me from more things, and that is warranty of my pc components. So I'm not doing anything that will void my warranty for anything other then the case.
Before anything was done:

Comments and ideas welcome. I will surely consider them rolleyes.gif

Hope that you will enjoy this!!!

PS
Not really it only has to be fun for me tongue.gif

Good luck! I love case modding... but I'm not as wise as you, so the warranty on practically all my parts has been voided.

Whats a warranty?

Good luck and have fun with it. There's plenty of knowledgeable people here who are willing to answer any questions you may have.

Btw Red star is beast when it comes to air flow, you've got loads of fans there, I have to say that I'm not a big fan of red but it looks good on your rig

Thanks for the good luck
I did pay for extra 1 year of warranty so it would be stupid to void it, but I'm being tempted all the time

Thats why I like this forum, there is a lot of poeple with a lot of knowledge who are willing to help. I will definately have some questions later on.
btw I'm guessing that your question was being sarcastic, correct me if I'm wrong.

I do believe you guessed correctly on the sarcasm!

Good luck with your mod. Just plan, plan, plan!! If you plan out each step and you take your time without rushing, you will be happy with the results in the end. Modding gets in your head after awhile, and you won't be able to handle a stock PC again!

Add to your tool wishlist for future builds, a solid drill, a Dremel tool (best investment for modding IMO), and a good jigsaw.

Have fun!

Small Update

My new fans
I've purchased these fans to replace the standard Cooler Master fans that were supplied with this case, and the two 140mm Xigmatek fans which I've had. These Aerocool fans are doing a better job then the xigametek and the coolermaster fans, oh and they look better

Fan layout
This is my initial fan layout. I'm not sure about the exhaust fan at the top that is in front of the cpu cooler, it might be better to have it as intake, I'll have to test this.
