boards are more on ebay. especially sli.

also, chips are less on ebay. a single core +3500 are going $20. you can get opteron 170 for $50 including shipping...

http://cgi.ebay.com/AMD-Dual-Core-Op...item20b8336bda

$40 buy it now, $10 shipping.

mobo's in sli are harder to find, search ebay for dfi 939 and all you find are the ultra D's which have 2 pci express slots, but do not support sli.

I hear ya. just go to the socket 939 appreciation club forum and see if people might know of anyone who needs parts

Id also see if you can test their overclock limit. My opteron 180 is worth more since it hits 3ghz compared to one used that.. nobody knows..

If you can get 3ghz out of either of them chips and show its stable prime95, you will fetch more on this website for sure.

Cpuz validation from my old 4400+ toledo setup.

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=474902

Thats the highest I could get on AIR, with water I probably could have gone to 3.3ghz.

But I have seen 3.6ghz on ln2, too bad the world overclocking database is long gone or you could see what that chip is capable of.

I'd say $60 plus shipping since it is a toledo core with jh-e6 stepping, best stepping.

eBay prices are an odd comparison though (especially comparing the various Nations), as they range from must-make-a-sale pricing to reasonably high (with free shipping) and ending up at I-will-take-you-for-a-ride prices, basically I was looking at the auction (sale) prices NOT the asking prices, additionally as shipping varies between the US Continental & Internationally I didn't bother to attempt to figure that into the overall price quote (hence the + shipping)

You could always do a hwbot search...

If you have an ebay account you can enter your zip code, and it will calculate the shipping into the price automatically.

I search by lowest price, and ending soonest. I also check buy it now prices.

Along with overclock.net, pricewatch.com, tigerdirect and newegg. you will get a good idea for pricing and where to shop.

pricewatch is great for finding new websites
