Fed up with my Xai/4HD.. options ?

My Steelseries Xai is now really proving to be a pain. The combination of its feet and the rough surface of the 4HD is not a good one over time it seems as just 6 months down the line am having serious tracking/feel issues because of the wear and tear. Which is a shame as I like the feel of the mouse.

I realise also that changing the feet and getting a cloth pad that works for the Xai is an option however I feel that I would be very nervous about messing the mouse up further by doing that, I am not at all confidant in the ease of replacing the feet so they are just as well applied as from the factory, and they would have to be otherwise I fear I would notice.

So I think I need some advice for a small mouse for claw/finger grip with feet that dont suck and a regular sized smooth cloth pad that is known to work well with it or work with a Steelseries QCK that I have here(that the Xai hates)..

I can't think of any other claw/finger-grip mouse that has a better sensor than Xai. If I were you, I would not change Xai, but only the mousepad.

But, PureTrak Valor is coming out by next week or so. It has a shape of MX518, but has a smaller size (117x75x45mm) and it's optical (Avago ADNS-3090). You might want to try this mouse.

Abyssus or WMO if you don't mind the lack of side buttons. IO 1.1 if you do.

No. Valor is a palm mouse for filthy cavemen. OP is apart of the glorious claw gripping master race and thus such an inferior mouse wouldn't work for him.

If i was to just change mat id have to do something about the feet on the Xai, and I am just not all that confidant in changing/replacing them at all. Also the Xai hating most Cloth pads is a big issue to as I want to go back to cloth, never really been happy with the feel of the 4HD, only bought it because it was ment to be designed to go with the Xai.

Are optical mice in general better at handling cloth compared to laser ?

Would still leave me with trying to find a cloth pad that works perfectly with the Xai, and is also not the size of my desk which rules out the Talent, which I believe is one of the few cloth pads to work perfectly with the Xai.

your gonna hate the xai on a cloth pad.

why?

cause it has legit tracking issues. dont even bother trying it with the qck. you better off with the top of you desk lol

im using an ec2 right now, but the IMO 1.1 is probably the best mouse out there... anyone who knocks is the type that clearly thinks 6500 DPI mice are actually better.
