Hello, i am going to upgrade my old rig, i found a upgrade with

-I7 2600k

-ASUS Sabertooth, P67 chipset

-Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz

For about 561Euro, i am gonna buy the H70 watercooler too, i do have some questions thou, will this upgrade be worth it? my Q9650 are running 4Ghz, if it is worth it is there a better cooler i can get then H70?

Thx for help

I've got the same MB/CPU/RAM except I got the 1866mhz version.
It is worth it, I've come from i7 750 @ 4.0 ghz and 4gb ddr3 2000mhz and it is worth it.

H70 Should be alright for that i7, they are 32nm, you can basicly overclock it up to 5ghz without any problem.

Exactly the same upgrade I'm doing! Haha! I don't like the Hydro series water coolers, I'd suggest going air! Noctua D14, Thermalright Silver Arrow, V6GT, Thermaltake Frio, Coolermaster V8 to name a few decent coolers.

Your Q9650 should last you another year or so, it depends what you class as a worthy upgrade, if you're just going for gaming, keep what you have, it's pretty sound, wait for the new ivy bridge or bulldozer! Then decide. Your rig is great.

if you have the space for it in your case skip the h70 and get a d-14 that way you wont loose an exuast fan and you will probly have better temps they cost about the same as well.
it all depends on what you do with your rig the 2600k when oced will stomp on pretty much anything out there, so if you believe that 25-45%(give or take a little on both sides) on most apps and games is worth it then by all means upgrade
