More that its for people who want more features.
Motherboards dont make any difference for overclocking on 1155 since its all chip limits (boards make a difference but not for max clocks)
Flash to the latest beta BIOS (f3C or F3d?) and then copy the main bios to the backup bios with Alt F12 right away at POST..

Fixes 90% of the issues with the board.
Remaining 10% at this point are mostly issues with RAM or PLL Overvoltage.

I have two of the UD4-B3's. One interesting observation. I got the first one a couple weeks ago as a replacement, it had the 'sticker' over the original 'UD4' silk screen and also it had a Lotes top bracket and a Foxconn bottom plate. I just store bought another yesterday and it has the new GA-P67A-UD4-B3 model silkscreeened on the board. Also it appears that the entire CPU bracket/socket is now Foxconn, no more Lotes. Even the boxes and manual are new. I havn't had any trouble with either board so I don't know if the newest one I have has other changes.

can you take a picture and show me different sockets? they haven't changed anything about the socket. lol at GB they don't change a part on their board because miahallen said so. ROFL.

Anyways when i met with GB they told me all the B3 boards are new, the manual has a revision number on it take a look at that? They haven't started replacing PCH yet, they just made new boards to hit the market asap.

I got my new UD7-B3 in the mail a few days ago and it has a sticker on it as well, multiple to be exact, but the box is different in some minor ways.

BTW there are reports over at XS that some boards are clocking 100mhz lower than others. An example was with the asus series, the sabertooth clocks 100mhz lower than the m4e and p8p67 pro. That was from a reviewers at madshrimps.

Interesting. We need a guide on this board, because there's nothing like the guide the ASUS guys have for the UD4. Personally, I can get 5.2, but my temps are absolutely out of control (88c after only an hour, I've never had the balls to go past that).

When you say "main" BIOS, you mean F1? My UD4-B3 came preloaded with the F1 BIOS.

88C at 5.2Ghz with megahalems? What Fans are you using? I never get past 76C at at 5.2 with 1.48 - 1.49v. I am running petratech yate loon SH fans in push/pull.

P.S. Everyone pay attention to what Sin0822 says about hardware cause he is accurate 99%+ of the time.

No I mean the backup bios. You can copy the main bios (primary) to the backup bios by holding alt f12 at the beginning of post.

You should update to the newest beta bios on tweaktown forums first.

Noiseblocker 1700 RPM. Not push pull. It could be my sensors I suppose.

I'm just trying to make it crystal clear. Need the numbers. I'm currently running F3d as my primary. If I hold alt+F12, that will load F3d as my backup?

Look at this thread about fans for the Megahalems.

Just hit ALT F12 as soon as you see post information to backup bios!

Thanks, I'll check that out. I should mention that Realtemp shows 30c worth of movement in the sensor test setting.

Does anything happen when you do alt+F12? Like a screen pop up? I just tried it, and the only thing that happened was windows failed to boot.

Another issue: I think this board hates this Corsair RAM. It defaults to 1066 7-7-7-20 timings and is really difficult about moving those timings.
