Exactly how many other AMD users jumped ship to SB and came back saying how they couldn't be happier?

I don't think I've seen one previous AMD user come back and say how terrible his new SB chip is.

Oh well, I'll just enjoy my chip while you make excuses as to why you'll need to upgrade a perfectly good and amazing chip once bulldozer comes out.

Really Intels got 32nm under their belt while AMD lags at 45. While I own an AMD chip I'll admit its more than enough for my single 6870 and at the time I bought it, it was the best per $ ( I needed a Black Edition ) Anyone who can honestly say thuban > SB is crazy. For those who say NOT CLOCK FOR CLOCK its because AMD can't match SB's clock, 4.4ghz vs 5.1ghz is perfectly fair if its the max oc on both chips... ones just weaker. //rant

Same crap we saw with "AM2+" being labeled on hundreds of boards that would fail to power even with cmos hacks. I saw "AM3+" on a board with a 770 chipset already.

Keep in mind that many games won't even utilize dual GPU correctly yet let alone multi-core, intel is still getting wins from the 2duo configurations in that line of trouble.

Ok, I guess we will see..

O yea, and dont over exagerate stuff by saying I flame everyone who disagrees with me. Thats BS I have said to plenty of Phenom guys that I see where they are coming from and I agree.

I am flaming people who use excuses like my 1080p res is too low for my setup and thats why I am seeing a bottleneck...No im seeing a bottleneck because of the hexacore I had. I replaced it and bam problemo fixed.

This thread was for those experiancing similar problems. I did not start bashing untill others did about how dumb I am for going the route I did.

So bulldozer will be out in the beg of summer and priced/performance will compete with current SB right? The why should I worry cause a few months after that Ivy will be out once again IMO AMD is late to the party.
I didn't call you crazy anywhere in my post. I just didn't understand why you didn't wait for BD. If anything the i posted at the end of it shows that i didn't understand why you went that route. If i thought you were crazy i would have used this: . Sorry if you got the wrong end of the stick.

I just think that waiting for BD would have been a more logical financial decision, especially considering you were on a tight budget. You could have waited for BD (which should be in around the 200dollar range, with lower clocked versions costing less)

Also that vid wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at everyone else, because after ~14 pages no one even asked why you didn't go with BD if you have a BD ready motherboard, at least i didn't see any posts regarding it because everyone was going on about resolutions, i understand your saving for eyefinity and explained yourself already which is why i didn't mention it. Which is why i thought that vid would suit because he says "Doesn't anyone notice this?". I wasn't trying to insult anyone i was just trying to make a point in a funny way, at least i thought it was funny. And incase you haven't noticed almost the entire internet is all about being immature .

What those people are trying to say is that at lower resolutions the CPU is tasked more then it would be at higher res, at higher res the GPU is tasked more, which is a valid point, granted it was overstated by some posters who didn't read the thread but that doesn't mean you can insult them. Insulting members is against forums rules and if you explained to them more clearly why you went SB then maybe they'd understand. Calling them dumbass's isn't the way to go.

"Attack the post, not the poster"

Note the fact that you don't have an eyefinity setup yet either so you have just as much experience as anyone else who doesn't have one but has done research. I don't have eyefinity and i don't have Crossfire but that doesn't mean i don't understand them, and it doesn't mean i don't plan on getting them in the future.

Just because someone has low rep and hasn't been on the forum long doesn't mean they are new to computers or building computers. In fact it says something like that in the rules for the rep system. You don't know them, and they don't know you. So there's no point labelling them as a troll and a dumbass, especially when they are making a valid point. If you didn't want loads of people pointing this out to then you should have made this very clear in your original post. It's your own fault for not doing this in the first place.

So if you are going eyefinity it might have been logical to first get the monitors and see the result for yourself. And then decide if a CPU upgrade is necessary.

If you want to prove them wrong then it might be worth while to hold on to your PhII until you get your monitors and test it out, see it for yourself, and then post your results.

Those posters are trying to explain to you that getting your eyefinity monitors instead of SB would have fixed the problem too. You'd have your eyefinity AND full GPU utilisation. Problem double fixed.

This is my unbiased opinion on the situation, and like i said before i'm no AMD fanboy, if SB was out when i built my rig last year then i would have went for it. I got my PhII because it was on sale, and I'm happy with it. And price is important to me, i make even less then you do (about €16,600 annually = ~US$22,000). Almost every single thing in my sig i bought on sale or saved up for ages to get, for example the case and cooler i got are refurbished. My PSU and ChIV were on sale too and the mobo was only $50 more then the original mobo i was gonna get (M4A87TD EVO). I started building it last september and i only got my 6870 last week (which was also on sale), i upgraded from a crappy HD2600 Pro. So i think i have plenty experience in pinching the penny.

That maybe so but maybe you should have chosen a more appropriate title for the thread? As stated by multiple posters they read the title and understandably assumed that it was a troll thread, which is why you attracted the fanboys. Is the PhII a bottleneck at 1080p res? Yes it is. Is it a "huge" bottleneck? No, it isn't in my opinion.

Maybe a better title would have been "Will a 1055T be a bottleneck for my system if i go eyefinity?". With that kind of title would have attracted more help, especially since it is a question. And a lot of people on the forum love jumping on question threads.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the most knowledgeable people in the AMD section skipped this thread completely because of the title alone.

Good for them, but IB uses a different socket then SB so i don't see how it applies to this discussion. If you want to upgrade to that then you'll have to buy a new mobo and a chip yet again. If you want IB then i still say it would have been better to hold off till it comes out rather then get SB.

And by the way. Welcome to Overclock.net.

Actually a certain version of Ivy bridge will be 1155. So I will not have to upgrade hence why I chose my route. Bulldozer will not be less than 200 dollars I guarantee you my friend. There is a chart floating around here somewhere. So if BD was meant to compete with(not beat) sandy then why would I wait for it when I can have that performance now? As well as being able to upgrade to the new architecture if I please. It makes sense if you look at it from my perspective. And my title said "phenom x 6 CAN be a bottleneck" not "phenom x 6 IS a bottleneck" If people where to read properly and not jump straight to flaming it would help.

People can debate all day long till they are blue in the face the fact remains it did bottleneck me and changing my CPU (not my res) is what fixed the problem. That's it.
