Bad comparison is bad.
Well the phenom has two more cores than the i5 so i thought more core more bang right?

Was not ment as review comparison, ment as warning for trying to crossfire 69xx series cards with it.

lol, you used the old benchmark (Vantage) for the Intel and then the new one (3D Mark 11) for AMD? You might wanna fix that....

A 6950 is equated to roughly the same performance as a 5870 here in Tom's Hardware benchmark... http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...an,2818-7.html

They are using an Intel Core i7-980X (Gulftown) 3.33 GHz at 3.73 GHz for the comparisons and score roughly 2,000 points more than I do in Vantage. They run BC2 bench and seem to have no issues with bottlenecking, neither do I.

If you are running a single monitor with a pair of 6950s then I see no reason for any bottlenecks all the way up to 2560x1600 resolution. I am playing in Eyefinity at 6088 x 1080 and have no issues. I think you simply had some sort of faulty set up with your AMD rig.

Wow another person with exact same setup having exact same problem...

Let me guess its light from swamp gas that's reflecting off of our atmosphere that's making his bottleneck too right?

lol, way to basically give yourself no chance of being proven wrong! What's there maybe 10 people on this forum with the exact same setup and play BC2? Whatever.

Then I guess all the reviews online are false then? The only thing a 6950 gains is more VRam 2GBs vs. 1 GB. So unless you are running Eyefinity then you will see very little performance gain. Oh and I read they have slightly better scaling in Crossfire. Sorry to burst your bubble. Do some research.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4061/a...eon-hd-6950/18

Check out the resolutions lower than 2560 x 1600... crossfire 5870 is right behind the 6950 at 1920 x 1200 and beats the 6950 at resolution lower than that.

A single 5870 beats the single 6950 in every resolution. I guess the 5870 is nothing like a 6950 is it?
