The whole point is not who is better.Even my 10 year old knows the answer to that question. The "point" is these endless"AMD bottlenecking" threads.99% of the time-it is some noob-who does not even know what resolution he is running.HD means what? Whether it is a 22" monitor or a 60" HDTV-they all run at 1080P resolution-which my single HD 5670 can run in some games. So buying 2 6 series GPU's is totally pointless-regardless of what CPU you are running, unless your are benching for points.Flame on.They also usually never consider the rest of the equation-like NB and RAM settings, hard drives and drivers. They look at their GPU utilization and think they know what that means. There are many reasons for differences.I play mostly older games,@720p,my GPU utilization hardly goes over 20%-does that mean my CPU is a bottleneck? Absolutely not, because I usually am maxed out at 120FPS.You have to add the whole equation.

At 1080p, AMD does bottleneck some high end cards, though. So what if you can max your "old" games at 120FPS on a 5670? Not everyone plays Pacman.

CSS, quake 3 / live, Half life 2, battlefield 2, so on... Most likely.

Look at Left4Dead
Both 3.3ghz but that's a 1k dollars vs 230 dollars compare.

denemedu.jpg

That's what a typical gamer will compare. Neither the 9 seconds in 7-zip nor the almost 7 times better performance in Encryption.

PS: Utilization is OS/driver issue not hardware smile.gif And if the FPS is acceptable, low utilization means lower heat ?

PS2: I'm no fan boy of anything, and I think AMD wouldn't be here if INTEL wasn't there. Monopoly and deceptive marketing is never good for customers.

Fanning the flames here, but you said all you did was swap CPUs. You swapped CPUs, mobo, and RAM. The only thing constant is your GPU setup.

I'm not surprised a whole new chipset, and a brand new one at that improved things. Sandy bridge blows phenom away, yet it's apples to oranges.

Tbh , even for gaming nowadays a thuban is overkill. Unless your somekind of monster and can percieve 60+fps.

Benches can raise your e peen, but thats about it. Wheres the practical usage in them? Nowhere. Though I am writing this on the wrong forum smile.gif

This pretty much. SB outclasses phenom, I don't think most people would argue with that. Also some people like to argue over this stuff, its a bit silly.

don't fry as easily,wth?

it depends on the power phase of the board itself over whether it is an AMD or Intel processor.

This post screams fanboyism

I have not read all the thread ,but the problem here is the BF BC2 game.

IT S A CONSOLE PORT !

Install Stalker Call of Prypiat to see what a game for PC does.
80-99 GPU % load all the time.

A port is a port and it will remain a port.
