Skipping BIOS & Load screens on a restart...

Thread Starter
but on a cold boot the bios and the Windows 7(64Bit) load screens all boot up completely as normal. This only happens when I restart from within the OS - Windows 7 still loads up as normal but you can't see it happening. The desktop appears pretty fast due to it being on an ssd but their is no load screen when i restart whatsoever.

I suspect it to be something to do with my GPU drivers. I have been mixing the CCC drivers around seeing which works best and this weird issue started around the same time. Seems to be kicking in when explorer is loaded up - i'm not too sure but this guy had almost the exact same problem as mine:

System is stable, nothing else peculiar has happened apart from this. Rig is in my specs. Any ideas? Thanks all.

So you are saying that the GPU drivers are loading too late/delayed start?

Yes, perhaps this is what's happening. Think I am going to uninstall/reinstall drivers through safe mode. Failing that, fresh install alltogether. Can't do this until tomorrow though so any ideas are welcome beforehand.

Yes I would agree with reinstalling drivers, have any settings been changed in the BIOS recently?? But a fresh install seems a little extreme :O Each to their own I suppose. Good luck anyways. smile.gif

Yeah suppose its quite extreme. Have the reinstall itch atm so its a good excuse.

Tried clearing cmos. No change.

Recently turned HPET off and on when trying to optimize the gpu through gigabyte bios.
