problems with front USB port rebooting PC!!!! help =(

hi y'all, i have a pc with the coolermaster gladiator case and

I've been having a problem when i try to connect anything in

the front usb ports, when i put a printer usb or a flash memory the pc just

reboots, now before you say my psu is the problem, when i connect to the

rear usb ports its ok, I have 2 optical mice, a printer, a keyboard and a flash

memory plugged in in the back, and it performs fine, now if i have a short

circuit or faulty usb ports, how can unplug those things so that i wont have

problems in the future?, I watched the connectors in the back of the on/off

component/usb ports, and it has a sata connector and 2 connectors with a lot

of little cables with different colors.

In the front panel it has the on/off

button, reset button, blue led fan button, 1 sata, 2 usb ports and a

headphone jack, what would happend if I unplugg any of those connectors???

Your post isn't very readable. It would really help us troubleshoot your problem if you could refine your grammar a little bit.

But it sounds like there is a short in your front USB panel. I've heard of this before, I think it was even on a cooler master case too.

Did you plug the front USB connectors in the correct headers on the motherboard?
Are you sure you have the connector for the front usb jacks plugged properly into the usb header on the motherboard?

I apologize if I didn't put up the picture right. It's my first time. Is your usb connector plugged into one of the circled ports? Try switching between the two and see if that helps. If not then it is a problem with your usb port/a short in the cord not your mobo

I had that happen to my system as well, on a CM 690-IIAdv case, with a GA-MA785GMT-UD2H board. Thought I had a short in the front panel. But when I recently did a new build using my 690 case and going to Sandy Bridge on a P8P67 Pro board, my rebooting problems went away with the board change.

So is it the board itself? Maybe, although we do have different boards that gave us that issue although both from GA. Is the board somehow getting shorted against the case and the trigger point is the front usb ports? More likely this is the cultprit.

Try pulling the board out of case, leaving it plugged into the front headers, boot up and plug something into one of the ports, if it reboots, then problem is elsewhere, if it doesn't then you know that the board is getting shorted and you'll have to insulate it to stop the rebooting, and to prevent any damage.
