2500k for 1.5k

Thread Starter
Hi, I'm new to the forums, but been reading them for about a month now, to bring myself up to speed on the latest and greatest. So, this years tax return is going to a new PC, and i haven't built one from scratch since 2001 (just kept upgrading things here and there since then). Now I've got a budget of $1,500.00 and i not only need a tower but a monitor too. I'm building everything to go with a white NZXT Phantom theme, and am trying to keep everything white, black, and blue, so... here's what i have in my cart so far;

OS: Windows 7 home 64-bit -$99.99
Case: NZXT Phantom PHAN-001WT White -$139.99
PSU: NZXT HALE90-750-M 750W -$139.99
Mobo: MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) -$179.99 (now i had my heart set on a Asus p8p67 pro but out of stock everywhere).
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz -$224.99 (w/ Shogun 2 free)
Cooling: COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520 -$29.99
GPU: EVGA 01G-P3-1561-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti -$249.99
Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 -$94.99
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB -$59.99
Drive: ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner
Monitor: AOC e2343F Black & White 23" 5ms LED BackLight LCD -$174.99

shipping: $27.72
Total: $1442.61

So IRS.gov says my return will be mailed on the 1st so i should be looking to purchase everything by the end of next week. I'm looking for opinions on everything i have here and I'm especially on the fence with the mobo since I've never used MSI before. My new PC will be for gaming, BF3 GW2, SWTOR, and more. Any and all opinions are welcome.
Thanks!

You might not like the Phantom. I was deciding between it and the HAF 932 and one day I saw it in the store, and I changed my mind right away. It's so awkward to work in.

If you're going to spend $150 on a boot drive just get a SSD?

Compusa says they have the deluxe if you don't mind paying more than a Pro
http://www.compusa.com/applications/...077&CatId=6978
HDD Personally I'd get the terrabyte for 30 bucks more but that's just my opinion lol.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136533
Um here's a 560ti for 239.99 it's MSI though
http://www.compusa.com/applications/...161&CatId=3669
This is the air cooler I'd have gotten if I had 15 more bucks
http://www.compusa.com/applications/...2441&CatId=798
Ram looks good
I think that's the same optical drive I have atm I think I paid 19 bucks
PSU I don't know who nzxt uses to manufacture their units but I know that this is the one I was rewcommended I got mine for 99 bucks and this has a rebate making it 109
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817207003

Personally I'd get Win 7 Pro allows for more memory and such like Virtual PC. But thats just me I paid like 50 bucks for mine.

case Recommendaions
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-236-_-Product
A mid tower but blue
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-224-_-Product
I'd really recomend this one if you were set on blue but it's out of stock
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-213-_-Product
so I lost track of cost but it shouldn't be be too much more
Personally I'd get Win 7 Pro allows for more memory and such like Virtual PC. But thats just me I paid like 50 bucks for mine.

EWW an SSD rubbish I won't upgrade until SSD's have storage capacity's comparable to HDD's and not hundreds of dollar more than an equal capacity HDD.

Edit: Forgot to ask but do you need case fans?
