Awesome article right? Most games, especially RPGs have already been mainstreamed and dumbed down to the point they are now pretty much in another genre/category altogether. They all resemble action games with barely visible elements of RPG. Heh, can you imagine how even watered down RPG-lite games like Oblivion would look if they listened to that guy?

::: "You have leveled! You are now... level? YOU ARE NOW BETTARRR!"

::: "Sword of Fury (weight: really heavy man!, damage: A LOT, a lot fiery dAMge and sh**!, status: I DUNNO, gud?!)"

I love consolification and dumbing down, don't you?

I agree completely. Numbers can potentially provide great depth to a game and are perfect for RPGs such as The Elder Scrolls. If he doesn't want to see them, he can stop stop paying attention to them. He doesn't HAVE to look.

In DA2 you can turn off the numbers. In fact its set "off" as the default.

That's exactly what I had in mind.

All I ever read on OCN nowadays is DX11 this, tessellation that. People can't be satisfied unless a game is so graphics-biased for the PC just so they can parade it over the console versions.

Only thing i had with oblivion is piss poor voice acting and animations. Really, there were only a couple of voice actors.
Everything else was fine.
