Both computers are working fine now, i formatted a partition on MY raid setup and RE-OS'd that and still have my data, and then i just plugged in the 270gb intyo my step dads comp and will run it off that until the SSD comes in, but i wanted to format the F3 but it says it needs to be initialized, it gives me 2 options:
MBR or GUID, im afraid that if i initialize it with MBR then it will put the MBR on that disc and remove it from the working 270gb.

You could just remove the hard drive you are afraid of messing the mbr up on. If it's on a partition, password protect the partition. That might lock it down. That should ensure no mbr messing/ removing.

Minecraft saves are saved in roaming of appdata. On vista or higher type %appdata% (or something like that) into your search field and then go to the roaming folder. Then the .minecraft folder and then the saves folder. With the new launcher (go to minecraft.net and re-download minecraft) it doesn't matter what they are named.
