that game took ten years to be released. i don't know about you but most people have been tired of waiting for games that take years to be released, hl2, hl2:ep3, duke nukem forever, vaporware, etc. pc gaming is truly dead if it takes 5-10 years to make a really good game.
It only takes that long because these companies try to get by with the least amount of dev support possible, if they can save a few million dollars and have half the cast making the game and it takes a couple of years longer they will do it.

But also pc games are taking so long simply because pc hardware is on an excellerated path, gpu and cpu hardware is getting better every year but the pace this is happening at is only getting faster. It makes it that much harder for places like Valve to put out episode 3 because the original timetable they laid out of a new episode every 2 years couldn't work, by the time episode 3 was due 2 years ago the HL2 engine was outdated. Now these scenarios are more common, someplace like EA starts making a game and 3 yrs from now when it comes out we'll have 16 core cpu's and 4 core GPU's.

Honestly. I didn't even read the article. But, Consoles have always hurt PC games as much as the DEV's allow them to.... When you have a dev company YD who is expecting Y number of sales across every platform, of course certain things have to be cut in order for all the platforms to be anywhere near the same. But if you have XD making a game for a single (pc) platform, they aren't limited to the known standards... they can make games for the future...
While I don't see much of a problem with current xbox/ps3 titles other than most every game is a cookie cutter copy of (w/e previous release) the game . The pc gaming side well ... Really I forget where I'm going with this... But the point is Who cares. You all buy stupid games that are copies of a previous game, with "better graphics" and a few new weapons texture sets and default maps....

Pc gamings true death was IMO... WOW. and the mass acceptance of games of that style. (Change reward, map locations for said rewards, and "story" behind needing reward)....

Not to say its anywhere reasonable of any DEV to release games that have know 0day bugs on either the game its self or server that hosts MP.

Lets all hope, the newest DUKE NUKEM finally ... Gives me something to play that doesn't make me feel bored 10 min in unless I'm watching someone else and explaining how to beat w/e.

I play "backups" on my PS2 and PSP if it was available (and it's coming!), I'd also do that on my PS3. If I had a 360 (and why would I have that lol?) I'd also play "backups" on it so FFFFUUUUUU with your PC-only piracy. kthxbai

SC2 is a PC exclusive and sold 5 million, MW2 and BlackOps were multiplatform. If SC2 can sell 5 million on PC alone, it shows PC is a market were devs can make money if they make quality dedicated exclusives.

Not everyone on OCN is a gamer, and not all overclocking is on a PC.

Also, just because you enjoy console games doesn't mean you have to be against PC games. I've enjoyed both for a long time.

Commodore 64 <-> Atari 2600, Mattel Intellivision
Intel 8088 <-> NES
Intel 486 DX/33 <-> SNES
AMD 486 DX4/120, Intel Pentium 200 <-> N64
Intel Celeron 500 <-> Playstation
AMD 1800+ Palamino <-> Gamecube
AMD 2500+ Barton <-> Xbox, PS2
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 <-> Wii, 360
Intel Core i7 930 <-> PS3

I've had a healthy relationship with both PCs and consoles. I'm not a "PC gamer" or a "console gamer", I'm just a gamer.

my attempt at a non-bias reply:
PC does allow the freedom to upgrade at your will, and that is cool. On the other hand, a console is pretty cheap when you consider a decent gaming rig(including said upgrades)

We all know this though, so why is this stupid thread still open?
