So I was looking at today deals and came across a 32 inch LED tv with 2.4 ms and 1080 for a PC/TV for myself

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889005144&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3640425&SID=skim384X616Xec542810e5c37704ecb594f39fef7659

LG 32LE5300 32" 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV $349.99 shipped at Newegg!
Newegg has the LG 32LE5300 32" 1080p 120Hz LED-Edgelit LCD HDTV for $629.99 - $280 off promo code LG32328 = $349.99 with free shipping. Features: 1920 x 1080 resolution, 2.4ms response time, 120Hz refresh rate, 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 4 x HDMI. NEWEGG

I saw this today. I have a 24 inch westing House and 2 GTX 460 currently. I want something a bit bigger. Plus I don't have a TV in my room currently and I thought this would be the best of both worlds. I would have it on my desk about 2 1/2 feet away from my face. Arm Length about for myself.

Anyways would this work well as my primary Monitor? Pro's and Con's

Any input would be helpful
Thanks!

As a TV it looks great but as a primary monitor I really don't think 1080p is enough with a 32" screen (presuming you will be gaming)

I have tried my 32" TV as a monitor and although the colours and contrast are better, no amount of AA can hide jagged edges with the pixel density of a 32" 1080p screen especially if it is going to be 'at arms length' away.

My setup is like yours as well

That does raise a good question.. but personally I just use my 26" 720p tv for watching movies, its just basically an extension of my desktop that also houses my system monitoring

I was using it at native 720p resolution but experienced some noticeable flickering when looking at it from an angle...

Oh well just my 2cents.gif

But I doubt you would have that much of a problem with it unless you wanted a higher resolution than what the tv allows...besides my tv is like a 5 yr old Insignia

I sure did, coming from a 40". Pixel density>size

I use my TV as a monitor, but I am ~6 feet away from it, and I use my computer mostly as an HTPC with web browsing. I would not want to be 2.5 feet away from it as you would be. That would just be painful for me personally, but then again I can't watch an IMAX movie unless I am in the back rows.
Then again, my TV is non-LED 720P, and that TV you linked to is uber nice. And it's 1/3 of the price that I paid for mine 6 years ago. sozo.gif
