Projects of The Month for April 2011 - Page 4

Ok, looking for some input folks. I have seti running on my gpu getting more credits and less run time than my cpu. Should I leave seti to the nvidia members and let my 5770 pull PG pnts. for the team overall ? I'll leave it up to the team this month.

PrimeGrid is cool except I have a poblem with it hogging display resources when running on both GPUs..

However, I just dropped in to let everyone know (brag) that I found my first prime number with them...

and that number is so large I couldn't pronounce it in a lifetime!

LOLOL!!!

Looks like we only need 1 more day of crunching for SIMAP and SETI has been achieved.

Rosetta probably won't be achieved unless everyone runs it during BGB. I'll see how much I can contribute but what's the kind of runtime on the WU's you would expect on a 1.8Ghz C2D running for 14 hours a day?

Runtime for Rosetta is actually configurable. By default, it is set for three hours per workunit, but you can change this in the Rosetta@home preferences.

I've noticed running rosetta mini's that the times are all over the place. Seems like they crunch along then suddenly finish... like the last one took only 22m. Some take between 1 and 6 hrs... all over the place. I have rosetta running by itself on my older Dell XPS system to help out... then I have to ship it off to new owner... meanwhile crunching 8 tasks on main system... 3 of them set for GPU only and they go fast... Seti, einstein, PrimeGrid all GPU only.

We're looking pretty good on the stats... seems like we should be able to overtake some slots in the near future. I just wish more OCN members would participate....

That's because some of the workunits are duds on Rosetta. QC isn't exactly up to snuff recently on that project.

I just installed Ubuntu on my mini ITX C2D E6600 2.4Ghz hes crunching Rosetta@home 24/7
If I have some time left tomorrow Ill try to bootup my C2D E7500 @ 3.4Ghz and a 8400Gs to help with some Rosetta.
Tooooo sad that my wife wont allow me to install boinc on her i7 920 with 2 4870 OCed.

Ah well my new i5 system just got shipped to me so 3-4 day's left till showtime !

Just fired up my linix laptop to help crunch rosetta, downloaded the Kubuntu BOINC package... so now 2 laptops and Dell XPS dedicated to rosetta and main has it as one of the 8 tasks it crunches... should get some results...
