yes another new guy to water cooling needs sugestions

Thread Starter
First off thank for all the usefull info ive found here.
I read i should use users opinion in a thread and i agree since this will be my first atemp.
So far ive decided on these parts, im in Canada and will probebly be getting my parts from Dazmode and ncix. Might have to get fans from frozencpu, but the fans seem to hard for me to chose.
Also want to put some uv lighting, but still havent read much in to that.

So here goes, as far as loop design could use a pointer if u can.
For now since im a virgin ill just cool cpu for now
I have a haf 932 case, and migh paint inside red powder....

1-cpu water blockapogee xt rev 2 NCIX (79.99) or ek full copper nickel Plated Frozencpu (89.95)

1- radXSPC RX360 Dazmode (94.99), sidewinders (84.95)

1- resevoirKoolance Rp-402x2 Dual 5.25 Dazmode (149.99) Frozencpu (129.99), sidewinders (119.99)

1- Tubingfeser black uv blue 2.5m ID 1/2, OD 3/4 Dazmode (16.99)

1- Coolantgood old distiled water

1- Silver coilDazmode (4.99)

1 or 2- pumpMCP35X Dazmode(109)*, Frozencpu (109.95), NCIX (99.99), Sidewinders (94.95), jab-tech (99.95)

1- TimIndigo Xtreme 1366 Dazmode (22.99), PerformancePc )19.95), Frozencpu (19.99) jab-tech (17.95

4-FittingsCompression Fittings same id & od as pipe nickel plated Dazmode (27.99)
Might go Koolance VL4N

6-Fansheres is the prob... but so far:

-San Ace Ultra Performance Fan 120x38mm 118CFM 46dB $24.99 dazmode + MOLEX 4-pin Fan Connector Kit (for San Ace &etc. lead wire fans) $0.35

-Koolance - 120mm 2600rpm fan FAN-12025HBK $12.99 Dazmode

-San Ace 9G1212H101 cant find these anywhere seem good

-TFC – Triebwerk 122 - Performance Radiator Fan 55mm 1800 rpm 88CFM seems good Dazmode 26.99

-Noiseblocker NB-Multiframe M12-P 120mmx25mm Ultra Silent PWM Fan - 1000-2000 RPM - 12-29 dBA best i seen 28.95 frozen cpu, performancepc

* aprently it dissapered from canadian stores

does anyone know about uv lights, from what i gather one must invert the power? Plz dont bash the question

I might want to get a fan controler and put all push on one channel and pull on another, so fast or loud fans i dont think would be a problem. Any sugestons?

Leaning towards Apogee XT rev 2, me likes its looks an performance seems negliable

Note – I still have my old pc and case, i even thought going exterior water cooling with a car rad, that would mean no more resevior, but how would i connect pwm of the pump.
Oh, how would i connect two mcp35x pwm if i stay with not doing the car rad lolz

Before anything thanks in advance for any help u can provide.
I have done several days of research, id say 100 to 200 hours.
Now since im a leynman some info getting harder to integrate.
Kudos to the site, Martinm210, Skinnee, Juggalo23451, and lots more

I'd go EK Supreme HF, it's a few *C better than the XT. I'd buy from Sidewinder, Gary's a great guy and will help with any questions you have along the way. Knowledgeable and fast service.

1- radXSPC RX360 Dazmode (94.99), sidewinders (84.95)

Great rad

Coolant/Tube/Res/Pump all good. A single 35x can handle this loop easily, and you can always expand later with that res if you want.
1- TimIndigo Xtreme 1366 Dazmode (22.99), PerformancePc )19.95), Frozencpu (19.99) jab-tech (17.95
Personally I use MX-4 and am completely happy with it. Much cheaper that IX or others, but everyone has their choice. I prefer something like MX-4 because it's zero burn-in time and it's cheap-ish so remounts are easy on the wallet. I tinker alot so something like IX that's harder to remove etc is a no-go for me.
4-FittingsCompression Fittings same id & od as pipe nickel plated Dazmode (27.99)
Might go Koolance VL4N
Highly recommend a few VL3N or VL4N in the loop to make swapping components easier, but there's no need to have them on everything. Smart setup can let you get away with 1-2 sets.
6-Fansheres is the prob... but so far:

Don't get the Triebwerks, they're wayyy over-hyped. I just sold some that I had, they weren't that great. Looked awesome, but performance was mediocre. Definitely not worth the MSRP of $35. I'd put some Yate Loon 120 high-speeds on a fan controller or if you want to spend money, get Gentle Typhoons, but nothing over $20 on a fan. The two I listed are cheaper and perform as well or better.
does anyone know about uv lights, from what i gather one must invert the power? Plz dont bash the question
UV CCFL kits come with the inverter, it's all molex based, just plug it in like you would anything else.
I might want to get a fan controler and put all push on one channel and pull on another, so fast or loud fans i dont think would be a problem. Any sugestons?
Recommend one, anything is really fine for you with only a few fans, I'd pick up something cheap like a Sunbeam Rheobus extreme.

The pump should just plug into a standard PWM spot for monitoring and control.

Also see bolded responses above.

I've ordered a few things from them, never had a problem. I mostly stick to NCIX, Direct Canada and dazmode does have some nice stuff that you couldn't find at NCIX or Direct Canada, but his prices for some stuff are higher.

Dazmode is also the only place i could find a Scythe Gentle Typhoon ap-15 in stock. He's out now, but the website says April...if you can wait that long. They are excellent fans for a radiator.

Don't get EK Nickel anything right now, they're having some QC issues with their plating, but I have all EK Copper and love it. Great parts. I use a lot of Swiftech too though, both are great companies with awesome products.

Just avoid the Triebwerks... GT-1850s are really popular around here, though currently there is a shortage. I'd recommend the Yates personally, and buy them from Sidewinder (they're the originals, most other places sell knock-offs, hence the cheaper price. Performance and noise is different in the cheaper models). Yates and a controller and you're all set. Or GTs, but definitely save some money there on the fans. 3 of either fan will also be fine on that rad, no need for Push/Pull unless you really want to. Performance will be pretty close. I found that I could either go P/P with the fans on low, or have a quieter rig with only one side of fans and then turn that set of fans up if I needed increased performance.

For reference I have all my fans set to minimum all the time, and I have no problems.

Gonna give direct canada a try. the price on the water block is big. just one way to find out.
its not like i like to spend money, e mean i work average 60h a week 6 days a week.
some guys spend money on cars i ave my pc.
wanted to do water cooling since it first was talked about.
i live in a rental hydro is included so no AC, in the summer some days gets really hot.
i understand the rad i choose is good for low rpm fans, just considering ambiente will already be warm. Whats importante is good pressure of the fans so it pushes more are through the fins.
guess ill get 3 fans to start and see from there.
plus rep for u both

I hafta disagree with some of the EK nickle issues... personally, I have not seen this issue on any of my gear, and it seems to have been strictly with the full block covers and only certain ones at that... sooo...

I see 2 pumps, your not going to need that much pumping power for 1 rad and cpu block... even if you were to add multi gpu and nb cooling later on, you could always add another pump if it came down to it, which it wont.

Push pull is always fun, theres another option using a bezel or shroud and going with a cheaper fan setup, even a couple mm's using rubberized decoupler are a good bet. I like yate loons, I know others do as well... and the price is super right for those. Between those and gentle typhoons, silence is golden.

Good luck with your build, look forward to seeing it in action.
