Is it actually fast? I don't care about javascript, I mean when I open a tab, can I see any waiting at all? I can't with Chrome or Firefox, but I can with IE9.

It is only Milestone 2. You can't expect a vast number of superficial UI changes this early in the development cycle.

IE9 is actually pretty good. On my laptop in sig, the only os that out ranks it in performance is chrome, except for GPU rendering of course.

In a year or two you may retract that statement.

Considering how it has been destroying usability more and more over the last few years I don't think he will be. It's not that JavaScript is inherently bad, but it is always used for the wrong things.

Something is up with your OS, because opening a tab in IE9 is as fast as Chrome, F4 is slower than both.

I hope they go Metro UI style all over Windows 8 I love the style on WP7!

What is M$?

You do realize javascript is the last way to interact with the client side right? There is only 3. Java applets, flash and javascript. Everyone is trying to push flash away and no one uses java applets anymore. At least to make websites. What do you think Ajax and html5 is? It's javascript.

All those websites you go to and has no page refresh updates. That's javascript.

Everything is going to be javascript and I mean everything. That means everything that used to play as a flash animation is now going to be javascript animation. That means if you don't have good javascript performance then your screwed.

Why do you think everybody is touting javascript performance. It's a big, big deal.

You can thank Steve Jobs for that. The mobile platform is not something that you think about supporting, it's something you have to. Think about all the iPads and iPhones out there.

I'm glad your not a web developer.

I'm glad you're not either. Since you don't know the difference between AJAX and HTML5.
