Strange Blue Lines on my screen With PICTURE!!! HELP!!! (is it artifacts?)

Recently, i have been trying to play some games such as AC brotherhood and Shift 2 and etc. but whenever i turn it on, my computer shows blue lines going through my screen. It is either horizontal, diagonal, or vertical and usually its mostly horizontal like this >> === = = = = == = ==

but when it does happen, my whole screen is frozen but my fans, processor, etc still functions. But i have to manually shut it down by pressing on power button or else it will stay frozen. Is this what graphic artifacts are? is the gpu DOA? I had it for about 3 weeks (its a 460gtx 1gb se) and during the first 2 weeks, it was working perfectly.

However, the really strange thing is i can play games like starcraft or even PES 2011 (pro evolution soccer) for 30-1hour and it wont give me the blue lines. Even steam games like CS:S or TF2 and i can play them just fine all maxed out. I dont understand that... it only freezees on certain games... What the hell?!?!

All games were working fine during the 2 weeks but this time, it will just freeze my pc and i will have no choice but to manually reboot. Also, i can surf the net or watch videos (even HD videos) and do anything but just cannot play those certain games.

I dont understand the problem and i didnt make any changes to the games settings or profile on the Nvidia control panel. What can i do? Its just those games and i tested them myself several times. heres a picture of what it looks like...

it looks very similar to that picture but its blue and it freezes the screen (not the computer)

without knowing the rest of your pc, all we can tell you is to RMA it.

the information provided isnt enough to diagnose it

however if it looks like that picture i believe that green/purple usually indicated problems with the RAM moduals on the GPU. however it can also be caused by not enough power etc....

what if the color is just blue? because mine is like sky blue and freezes the whole screen and the gpu processor turns off and all the fans still work though...

Now i just tried some other games... any 3d game makes it freeze within a matter of 5minutes... is the gpu really dead? it was working perfectly couple of days ago but now it wont even let me play past 5minute without it having blue lines horizontally and freezing the screen...

the screen after like 10 seconds of freezing says going into power saving mode so i think the gpu processor shut itself off?

If it is working in some games and not others before you rma it try scrubbing the drivers off and reinstalling them, I had a similar problem with my cards and deadspace 2 all other games were fine, scrubbing the drivers and reinstalling them cleared it up no problems.

also check the temps on the card. could be the games your trying to run stress the card more and are causing it to overheat the 460 runs hot at the best of times

The opposing faction is hacking into your PC to know where you are!! >.> would only make sense because the enemy ALWAYS knows where I am in a game =.=
