Thread Starter
I have my x4 925 on gigbyte motherboard and i want to go up 3.5 from 2.8 and there are two questions:

1. I need change in bios FSB, voltage on core and mhx with ram i mean something with ram and of course checking my temp and other similar stuff

2. and there one last thing is there will be any problem with my ram i mean is there any possibilty that my ram will forbide me to overclocking
I have 3GB GoodRam 633 MHz ?

Have a look at

It might shed some light.

I am not an expert on AMD overclocking but I will try and shed some light.

The frequency of a processor is controlled by a multiplier and the clock speed.

For instance with my processor [Core 2 Duo E0 E8400] it runs at 9 x 455.
9 is the multiplier and 455 is the clock and therefore 9 x 455 roughly equals 4000 (4095 exactly), so I therefore get a core clock speed of 4GHz.

The multiplier on my processor is locked so I overclock by changing the core speed represented by the number 455 here. However you can overclock using either of these methods.

The front side bus runs at a frequency much like the processor does so increasing this frequency can stop a bottleneck occurring.

Voltages are also another very important part of overclocking, in order to maintain stability voltages need to be set correctly other wise your system will fail to boot, crash or die. NEVER OVERCLOCK ON AUTO SETTINGS!!!! This is because your motherboard may overvoltage your chip without your knowledge and this could cause it to die.

So increase your multiplier once and then you can use the clock speed to make fine adjustments until you reach 3.8GHz, keep the voltages at stock as you increase and stress your computer using Prime95 each time to check stability and if it fails to pass prime 95 then increase the voltage ever so slightly then run again until stable and once you have it stable you can think about increasing the overclock a bit more.

Note: you MUST monitor your temperatures when running a higher voltage during a stress test as your computer can reach dangerous temperatures if you don't have proper cooling. You can monitor temperatures using a programme called HWMonitor.

Where it says "memory clock - x 2 = 500MHz", reduce that. It sounds like it isn't booting because your ram is running too fast.
