I was on the same boat and I went for GTX480 partially because 6950 was a bit more expensive than GTX480 at the time and partially because GTX480 was a bit faster card according to reviews.

The biggest reason I went with GTX480 was that it was once Nvidia's flagship card not so long ago and 6950 never was.

Ok, well I think I'll go for the 480, plus I love converting my videos using the CUDA support in Xillisoft thanks for the help, +Rep!

U're probably wrong.
To OP: When u get your new card, try to OC your CPU a bit more, 3.0Ghz is slow. Also i still vote for the 6950.

For performance the 480 but I would personally get the 6950 because it's a lot quieter and cooler and uses a lot less power. If it wasn't for those I'd be all over a 480

GTX 480 is faster but not by much (around 15%), however it's a lot hotter and louder (probably a lot more expensive too) so I'd stay away from it.
