I know for a fact hat gigabyte have release AM3+ socketed 8 series motherboards, but I still question whether the AM3 socket can support BD because it lacks the extra pin hole!

So your telling me my motherboard that has a hard time handling a quad core without popping the vrms will handle a 8 core cpu... I am disbelief

Well one thing's for sure; some of them aren't motherboards currently out (i.e. the 870A-G46). Perhaps at least some will feature improved power phase.... we can only hope that the blow ups don't continue on AM3+ CPUs
