Any issues with 1080P Panasonic Plama with ATI 6950 video card ???

Thread Starter
Hello every one, I recently purchased a new rig that I plan to connect to a Plasma TV.

Keeping in mind that I haven't received my PC yet (NCIX order) and I also never actually hooked up a PC via the HDMI port to a Plasma TV before, I have a few questions. I will be mostly gaming and watching Movies with this setup, I might also do the occasional online surfing.

Will I have any type of weird screen resolution issue connecting my XFX ATI 6950 Video card to a 54 Inch 1080P Plasma TV?

The reason I ask is because I read on a few online forums that the screen resolution might cause issue either because of the video card or because of the Plasma TV, apparantly its doesn't use the same standard resolutions as a standard PC monitor or LCD TV ???

I also read that the lettering might not be very legible compared to an LCD, is this really true or not?

Also, my last question, when I connect the TV directly to the PC Video card HDMI port (keeping in mind I have no computer monitor at all). Will the video card detect the proper screen resolution at 1080P right off the bat? without any config issues? or to the very least, will it display the screen so I can at least configure it for the first time ?

Thanks!

You should have no trouble getting everything set up. I'm running HDMI through a receiver and the only thing I have to do after installing drivers is go to the My Digital Flat Panels > Scaling Options page of CCC and push the slider all the way to the right.

However, I have no experience with plasma TVs. That being said, I would assume it's just a typical 1920 * 1080 resolution - otherwise there would be issues with devices like game consoles, etc. The thing I'm most curious about is the way refresh rates work between video cards and plasma screens...

you shouldn't have any issues other then probably having to adjust the scaling as mentioned.

I've had a panny plasma and currently a samsung plasma, and i don't have any issues
